Anyone else feel wierd about smoking an estate pipe?

After I've smoked an estate pipe enough times, it feels like it was always mine to begin with. If the pipe is clean and well-maintained, or if a quality restoration job is done before the sale, it's almost like starting with a new pipe. A nice estate pipe from smokingpipes is one thing, while a questionable old pipe from an unknown ebay seller is another. I have one restored Savinelli and I sometimes forget that I bought it as an estate pipe because it was like new when I got it.

One should be concerned if they feel weird after smoking a used pipe.

Also, green-running lip sores I've heard can be a pretty distinguishing tell.

A guy came up to once and said that my pipe reminded him of his departed uncle. I told him there's a chance this IS his uncle's pipe =)

I think I am going to have a pipe of my likeness commissioned so that when I go, someone will have to smoke my estate pipe that looks just like me.

I have never really given it any deep thought come think about it. I have that pipe that belonged to the fellow who investigated the Ripper Murders Inspector Abberline but I have not experienced any insane urges to go around bumping of ladies of the night!!

You should have it carved on the back side of the bowl so that you'll be staring at them while they smoke it.

Many of the pipes I have I could only afford as estate pipes. I have purchased at least 150 estate pipes since I took up smoking. One came smelling like weed and 3 have charring or spider webbing in bowl that wasn't advertised, but the rest all looked good, cleaned up nice, and smoked well.

I just bought an estate Ben Wade from Mkelaw-Pipes.com and the sucker was like new & sanitized ready to smoke.

I knew an old tobacconist who compared smoking an estate pipe to wearing someone else's false teeth or underwear. His logic was, you can clean them and sanitize them but they were still in somebody ele's mouth or keister. Myself? I've got no issue unless some horrible crap was smoked in them.
