Dont really like it strait up but ive tried it in 50/50 blend with RLP-6 and PS Black Dansk and it enhances both with a cool cinnamon flavor which has been enjoyable.

Got my sample (very generous!!) today.... Had to do some yard work then settled in with much anticipation...
Perfect day to try this out... 55*, overcast with a slight fall breeze. Grabbed a cup of coffee and to the front porch with my dog I went.
I have been smoking predominently English/Balkan blends the last 3-4 months but we all get the urge for an occasional change and for me this fits the bill! Bag aroma is delicious and I could definitely pick up the cocoa. The spiciness (cinnamon?) in the smoke really hit the spot for me. It also has a spicy taste which I appreciated as an English lover as it kept my mouth interested.. many aro's, while having a great room note, taste bland to me. Along the way I detected the burley nuttiness and some cocoa sweetness wafting in and out.....
Definitely a satisfying fall/outdoor blend for me and I will be ordering a tub of this as soon as it is available.......
Great job Russ!!! I think you have attained just what you were looking for!

Have this going in a MM Country Gentleman cob. Definite sharpness to this that's most likely from the cinnamon. Not bad but really up front. Stays lit well. Not something I would ordinarily smoke but different enough for once in a while.

I received my sample today. Life won't slow down until Wed, so that is when I can try it.

I just finished my first bowl of this, and it's pretty good. I did notice that the first half of the bowl did give my tongue a tingle kinda like putting a cinnamon toothpick on your tongue, but I wouldn't call it a bite. As I progressed through to the bottom half of the bowl, the tingle subsided and it mellowed out quite a bit. The one thing that I found to be the least bit objectionable is it did make my nose tingle when I snorked it, which I'm prone to do a lot, but it's nothing I couldn't live with.. All in all, it's not a bad smoke, not one I'd call an all day smoke though, but that's just my opinion. I think Russ has a winner with this one, and I hope it's a big seller for him!

I smoked some yesterday, but unfortunately, I had come down with a cold and my tasters were off. I kept getting a nutty, hard-boiled egg flavor. I'm gonna wait until I'm better before I smoke it again. It did however smoke cool and for the most part, dry.

I got mine today and was very excited to try it. The smell out of the bag was fantastic. I immediately picked up on a chocolate and well kept barn. I love the smell of a well kept barn :D The performance in the pipe was a bit different. It was different that what I am used to but familiar to something else. It reminded me of cigarettes a bit. My wife said I smelled like I was chain smoking. It wasn't awful and might suit me better mixed with something else. Thanks to Russ for a chance to try it.

Angler's Dream will be available at Pipesandcigars.com on November 15th. It will be in 14 oz. tubs, and after doing our cost accounting, we've decided to sell it for $25.99, which puts it right there with PA, CH and most of the old over-the-counter blends.

First let me say Russ has created some outstanding blends but this one didn't work for me the first couple times around the block. I'm going to allow it to age a bit then try it again some day in the future.

I got mine today, I just finished a smoke and I have to say.... It was okay.
It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good! I will just have to stick to my other favorite blends from Russ!

Hi all!
First, Russ, thanks for the sample. I don't post much, so I wasn't sure if I would really get one, but I really got one! :) Actually, I got my sample a couple weeks ago, but haven't had a chance to sit down with it until now.
While it seems that most people got cinnamon as one of the strongest flavors, I felt that cocoa was standout flavor in this one, from the tin to the bottom of the bowl. I think that the cocoa comes through in the flavor (as in taste) of this smoke better than any I've tried. It burned cool loosely packed in my Brebbia lovat.

The cinnamon, while present, only added a spiciness on top of the cocoa, for me. There is a bit of nice burley flavor underpinning the blend, and the honey adds a bit of sweetness. I didn't find it bitter, but I like my coffee black, and my chocolate dark, etc. What surprised me was that I didn't find the sweetness overpowering, as I just really don't like sweets. I find most aromatic blends far too sweet, but for me, this was just right.
I felt that it had a surprising amount of complexity in flavor, despite the simple formula. It just seems like good ingredients, well balanced. I found it rich like a good cup of coffee. Which I guess is to say that I found it bitter, but I liked it just fine!
I'll be looking for it in the upcoming weeks! Thanks again for the opportunity! I recommend it to those who like aromatics that aren't overly sweetened.

I tried this and I kind of liked it. I could taste the cinnamon in the background and it smoked smooth.
However, this blend gave me a huge case of the "niccups" which has really never happened to me before.
I am going to smoke the rest of it and hope that I am not naturally allergic to it.
Thanks again Russ. Keep the great blends coming!!!!

I tried it tonight. I am not sure what I think. It certainly lit easily and stayed lit. My wife liked the tin note. My palet (tasting sense) is fairly new, so I could not detect much. Lots of smoke of course. I have put it in a jar that used to have apple butter in it, so it will have more cinamon flaver next time.
