    EMP + Nightcap

Good to hear I'm not the first! In hindsight, it's an obvious combination to attempt. I honestly wasn't expecting to like it as, like I said, any time I've done this in the past I've regretted it. I've just done exactly as you said. I now have a jar of "Flatcap" to enjoy.

    EMP + Nightcap

Glad to hear you mention Tuarekh as I have some on the way!
  3. Aylesbury Pike

    EMP + Nightcap

I just had a bowl of 50% Eearly Morning Pipe mixed with 50% Nightcap. This was one of the most delicious smokes I've ever experienced. Every other attempt at combining blends has always tasted like a disappointing mess but for some reason this one was incredible. The EMP tamed the aggressive...

Best No Nonsense Way to Pack and Break in a Pipe

After much consternation when I started smoking, the method that works for me is to gravity fill pinch by pinch, tapping the side of the bowl as I go. Once I get to the top I do a very light tamp using the weight of the tamper and then gravity fill again to the top (usually just one more pinch...

Did we just lose Presbyterian in Europe?

It's interesting that you both mention CG as I have tins of it on the way. I was drawn to it as a fan of both burley and mild Englishes like EMP. Does the burley flavour come through in CG?

Did we just lose Presbyterian in Europe?

That's what I was confused about. I'm saddened by this as I was about to try some for the first time. Lucky I didn't, in hind sight, I may have ended up loving it!

***What Are You Smoking, April 2025?***

Enjoying some Maltese Falcon. It seems I've gotten over whatever weird spell was temporarily causing all Latakia blends to taste like inhaling perfume...

    Comfort Food Tobaccos

The answer to this will obviously be extremely subjective and, in my opinion, has a lot to do with the memories associated with certain blends. In short, you probably won't find but rather make your comfort blend. For me, this is Solani Aged Burley Flake. It was the first "Ultimate Smoke"...

Did we just lose Presbyterian in Europe?

Over the last few days I've noticed Presbyterian has either disappeared or been labeled as "discontinued" on several European sites.

    Easter! What are you doing?

Welcome back! On Easter I'll be going to Mass, enjoying our usual post-mass coffee/cakes and then heading home to eat whatever it is that my wife has planned to make which, I have no doubt, will be delightful.

    Skippy's Blend of the Week

I just found this thread and I think it's great. The in depth reviews along with the nice photos makes for a really good read. Added this to my watch list, thanks Skippy!

Maltese Falcon in a Chacom bent bulldog. I've probably smoked half a tin of this and I'm only just now starting to enjoy this blend. Yet another reminder to myself how taste can change.
