Thanks for the comments. I very much appreciate them . . . No, he wasn't named after the camera company, but he sort of was. I'll tell you the story of him, and answer your questions about those two pistols, to a greater extent in a PM tomorrow sometime.

I've owned both, and currently shoot the Air Venturi AV-46M. This is basically an updated IZH-46M, but was not available in a left hand grip. I have a left hand grip Air Venturi. It is handled by Air Venturi, in the USA, who stock parts and other goodies, but the pistol is simple enough to self-service. The AV-46M is more reliable, and it dominated top level competition 'till about 2008 or so, when it was supplanted by more advanced regulated PCP jobs that are out of my price league. I was at the range today, and shot six or seven 3/4" groups with it at 16 yards with iron sights, which is the mid-range trajectory for Field Target, the discipline I shoot in. This was the best I've ever had with pistol, by the way. I've managed to attain mid-level mediocrity with a handgun, lol. More on that later, too. I'd opt for the Air Venturi. It's still a top level shooter.

While I was out, I smoked a bowl of year 2018 Sutliff Dunhill Elizabethan Match in a straight smooth brown 1960s-70s BBB Own Make 506 Canadian with a sterling silver band and a tapered black vulcanite stem.


Currently, I'm a third of the way through this bowl of year 2012 Carter Hall in a 2015 Basil Meadows black sandblasted billiard with an aluminum band and a pearl red acrylic tapered stem. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink. The ferals (except for Abner the Eager) were waiting for us when we got home, and we traffic copped their feeding. Only Daisy the Feral Princess is inside.

Just finished smoking first production Watch City American Cut Plug Mixture in a smooth medium bend terracotta Peterson POY 2023 X160 464/1100 military mount egg with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

I'm near the half way mark of this bowl of year 2014 Edgeworth Ready Rubbed Match in a very much appreciated 1979 brown, slight bend grain etched flat front Stanwell Rego 969-48 (09) with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Reading baseball box scores.

Ate another apple, and my last smoke of the day is year 2016 D&R Two Timer Gold in a 1982 smooth straight Sasieni Ivory 105 Apple with a black vulcanite saddle stem. This was my first Sasieni. Bought it at my local Tinderbox for $9.95. The ferals were hungry again, so I fed them with no trouble. I'm going back to reading box scores.
