    Humidity Affecting My Lighters

Cigar...I haven't seen a Vector flint lighter, but I doubt I would have gotten it. I hate having to do any maintenance to a lighter then refilling it from a butane can. What is your impressions of the Pipemaster? Is it the same quality as the Old Boy, just with electronic ignition. Or is it just...

So I Decided to Keep It And Smoke It (pics)

Wow, judging by the pic with the white background it seems a bit small. But then seeing you smoke it it is a nice size pipe. I know you have posted before about your liking of horns and zulus so I think this will fit in your collection quite well. Its really a good looking pipe and nice stem...

My New Old Bari Pipe of Denmark -Pic Heavy-

Nice. That's the first Bari I have seen that was straight. They come up on the bay every once in a while and even the ones with no stems usually go for pretty high. I have tried to get a few but they always go for more then I am willing to pay. I can't remember where I read it, but I rad that...

    Humidity Affecting My Lighters

Doesn't really matter. I like the Vectors better. I am not wanting a Zippo debate.

Where Do You Find Good Deals on Pipes?

If you are looking for estate pipes, many of our site sponsors sell estate pipes and have quite a few deals. Smokingpipes has a huge estate pipes section and it gets regular updates. On eBay there are many specific dealers that have been discussed here in length, one of them is pipestud, who is...

    Humidity Affecting My Lighters

I do have a Zippo pipe lighter. It is what I started out with. But with the wind in Houston, I felt I was charring the rims of my pipes a good bit. That's why went with the VEctor pipe lighters directional flame. That, and I just seem to burn myself almost every time I use a Bic. Also, as you...

    Humidity Affecting My Lighters

There have been a few threads lately discussing how humidity is affecting people's smoking experience regarding either the pipe or tobacco. Living in Houston, this is a typical occurrence for me and not something that has really bothered me until now, or at least I think. I have two vector...

    Chasing The Better Button

Second attempt way better. I would error on the side of thicker, as others have pointed out. Its amazing the bite strength some people have. I have a very old pipe with a bone stem and it has deep chatter. Imagine what that guy would have done to a vulcanite stem. Zack, to be honest though, I...

What Tobacco Comes in Tins? Besides flake

I don't think you are crazy but I would venture to say there are probably several thousand blends that come in tins. Not all are readily available but, none the less. If you could describe the tin art and type of tin maybe someone can point you in the right direction. The sites phil listed...

Show Off Your Mario Grandi Pipe Here!

I have two. This one I just got from smokingpipes. Came in a custom case with matching tamper. Estate purchase, though unsmoked. This one was my first Grandi and one of my work horses. One of only a few pipes I have kept that does not have a smooth top. It just smokes too well for me to get rid of.

Flea Markets are a Bust This Year; But Just Maybe...

You always get all the good stuff. Being the Southern United States, most of the time, antique stores and flea markets are just fancy terms for junk sale. Not much quality antique stuff and if there is it is very high priced.

    Ooops, Drilled Through the Bowl

lol, Well that's one way to learn. Super glue and pipe mud would probably work. Maybe mix the glue with some saw dust. The old cajun has recommended fire caulk instead of pipe mud in previous threads. In the future, using a drill bit to unclog a pipe is the tool to use, but hand crank it...

    Non-Flavored Flake Recommendation

Maybe Peterson Irish Flake. That is pretty strong stuff.

    Does This Happen To You

Happened to me a few times when I was first learning. I would pack the bowl to tight and try and fiddle fart with a pick in the bowl drying to get a better draw. I would go from nothing to a tongue with an ember. Made learn to pack better that's for sure. I have a few expensive dress shirts...
