    Ropp Pipes

I have seen a few of these before, but it never clicked that they were all Ropp pipes. Very cool and I can see myself going down a rabbit hole today.

Bo Parker from the Pipe and Tamper Podcast on Radio Show of April 22, 2025

Thanks for bringing Bo on and turning me on to the Pipe & Tamper podcast. Now, I am looking at the Methotical coffee to accompany my latest tobacco on the veranda. Thanks for fueling my addictions Brian!

Ben Smith of Redeemed Pipes on Radio Show of April 15, 2025

Had to laugh about Ben Smith being the most common name next to what I thought you said was Howard Johnson. You can only guess my disappointment that I found out you said John Smith and weren't referencing the bit from Blazing Saddles. Regardless it was fun to listen to the connection of hiking...

    Skippy's Blend of the Week

My last two aromatics I attempted to smoke resembled that goopy state. Might have to set them on a cookie sheet for a day in the sun. 🤪 Just started playing with Kendal dark/kentucky/birdseye last year. Need to hit that this week, so I can compare against your thoughts.

Pipe Maker JB Frady on Radio Show of March 11, 2025

In the wake of many blends going away, I got to thinking about your blending of McClelland and if we should be hiding it way as a precious commodity to only be put on a shelf. I quickly came to my senses and agree with you that we should enjoy it for the tobacco it is and what we want to do with...

    Skippy's Blend of the Week

I will have to give Paladin a try if I run across it. Here are a couple more that I have tried that aren't on the list. TCS - Saratoga (sweet) TCS - Trumpeter (mild flavor) 4Noggins - TEWKSBURY HOBBIT'S WEED MATCH (boom) KBV - Dark Fired Cherry (rich)

    Skippy's Blend of the Week

Good to dive into something fun Skippy. While cherry gets the good and bad, it is the one that everyone has the aroma memory of someone near and dear smoked. Love it or leave it, it's got its place in pipe land. That being said, I can only take limited amounts of Lane Very Cherry, as it makes my...

A pipe in a hot bath

Maybe in a van down by the river. Need to have a shower beer tonight.

    Does Anyone Else do This?

You need to come up with a "Dottle Destruction" party and toss the whole thing in the fire pit. Should keep the mosquitos away. :D

    Skippy's Blend of the Week

I just picked up some Kendal Dark last month and would be interested to hear what you think. You are right on with Autumn Evening in my opinion. Toppings are excellent, but they can get hot quickly and cause all kinds of issues. It turned me off a bit until I learned not to smoke it in the...

Jonni Adams and Grey Van Kuilenburg on Radio Show of February 25, 2025

These guys had way too much fun at "Pipe Camp" and definitely leveled up with their creativity and productivity. Great to hear more examples of how the pipe community is willing to share and build friendships. A great opportunity and a lesson in taking quality breaks to appreciate a bit more.

Jon David Cole from The Country Squire on Radio Show of February 18, 2025

I appreciate John David every time he is on, as he is entertaining and has a grounded view of the pipe community. That being said, he is a bad influence and costing me money. First it was the Fidorka chocolate that I had to order from Poland and this time he got me with IPSD sale. Next thing I...

    Skippy's Blend of the Week

Happy Birthday! Sounds like a good recipe for recovery. ;)

    Skippy's Blend of the Week

Hope you get to feeling better. Take care.

    Skippy's Blend of the Week

My 10-year-old daughter says every tobacco blend smells like prunes or prunes and something else (vanilla, chocolate, raisin pudding). I think I will leave it to you to see what the Fox Says, as the cigarette flavor is not on my list. Cult is one of those guilty pleasures when I want a cherry...

    Cowboy Coffee

You all convinced me to give it a try, but it has been lost in the mail somewhere in MS for the last 3 wks. Fine people at The Country Squire are working to locate it and make it right if they can't. Just have to wait and see what happens. :D

Pipe Book Author Fraser Moss on Radio Show of January 28, 2024

This was a fun interview and actually knew some of the places Fraser was talking about after visiting some Canadian friends over the years. Luckily, some of them are pipe smokers and showed me a few spots, but they are few and far between. Now I need to go to Timmy's (Tim Horton's) and get some...

    Skippy's Blend of the Week

Like a bunch of us, I am playing catch up to your reviews and really appreciate it. Fun to give everything a good smoke and think about what you like and don't, but more importantly a "why" over a couple of days. Keep it up and thanks!

Is there a 10mm filter? - Mastro De Paja Special Pesaro Gigante

Everything worked out just fine with filter as you suspected. Still looser than any of my other 9mm filtered stems and a lot of coloring went around the Obetis filter. Just a little different. Thanks for the advice!
