    Need Help Naming a Blend

“Washington’s Hatchet” While the story of young George chopping down the cherry tree is actually a myth (ironically written & propagated by a minister). It has been used to teach the virtue of honesty. A whimsical name for an honest blend ?

    Why Own Small Pipes?

I found my small pipes were consistently being passed over, so, with the exception of a single clay, I sold them off. I do however, have a number of shallow chamber mid-large pipes that maintain the burn qualities I prefer, while reducing the tobacco volume a bit for those extra stout blends ?

*** What Are You Smoking? *** (October, 2019)

Presbyterian in a Comoy acorn. For being one of the classic blends - and as a lover of light English and Balkan blends - I’m just not getting much from this 8 year old tin. Not unpleasant, just nothing to hang on to... A few more bowls like this and I’m gonna boost it with something more flavorful.

    The Vessel or the Contents?

Definitely in the minority. I premeditate on the tobacco I’m craving (I keep 10-12 blends open at any given time) and then pick a pipe to smoke it in. The only deviation is when time factors in and either requires me to use one of the few small pipes, or allows me to use one of the few XL pipes...

*** What Are You Smoking? *** (October, 2019)

Something made me dig out a can of Granger (Pinkerton era) that I bought years ago. Smoking the first bowl (ever) in an EA Carey billiard. Surprisingly pleasant. Not sure what I was expecting, but better than what I was prepared for!

*** What Are You Smoking? *** (October, 2019)

Butera Pelican 2002 in this Moretti. Easily the coolest morning of the season thus far. Ironically, even the real pelicans are huddled up watching the mist rise off the salt marsh - too cold! However, the oysters are just screaming to be harvested... maybe later ?

    Bittersweet Addition (Pic Heavy)

Stellar example of why we call it the “Brotherhood” of the briar. Beautiful story all around and an appreciated reminder of the humanity woven throughout our “hobby”. Thanks for sharing!
