    Handing The Pipe Down

I have 3 sons, 16, 15 & 3 (oops!) - they all love that dad is a moderate pipe & cigar smoker. They each have a favorite pipe - which will be passed on to them when they are 18 if they wish. The 3yr old loves to “assist” in picking out the pipe/tobacco combo and changes his mind about which is...

***What Are You Smoking?*** (November, 2019)

Presbyterian Mixture in this EA Carey pot. In 30 yrs of pipe smoking I’ve never had a blend turn around like this one. I was ready to throw it in the “mixers” stack - now I’m planning to cellar more!

***What Are You Smoking?*** (November, 2019)

2012 C&D Crooked Lane in an EA Carey billiard. Time to dry this stuff to crispy - third bowl, and while marginally getting better, still underwhelming. Tin promised “rich”, but I’m just getting “thin”.

2002 Butera Pelican in this Moretti blast. Watching the “Northern” ducks splash down in the pond while making their way further south.

***What Are You Smoking?*** (November, 2019)

Final bowl from a 2003 8oz bag (remember those?!) of G.L. Pease Piccadilly in this Alpha virgin egg. Man am I sad to see this stuff go ? It made my Hall of Fame list. I’d happily part with some of my McClelland stash if someone is sitting on a bag or 3 of this stuff? ?

For real KB! That stuff is becoming a daily burn for me as well. Really really nice and I find myself looking forward to the topping - not just tolerating it. Best surprise blend of 2019 for me!

***What Are You Smoking?*** (November, 2019)

Aged Bayou Morning Flake in this wonky EA Carey / it’s warmed up to a balmy 54* here and the palm trees have stopped shivering ?

***What Are You Smoking?*** (November, 2019)

2012 Presbyterian Mixture in a Moretti blast. A group of Pintails are huddled together complaining on the pond. 34* on the Carolina coast - we all feel betrayed ?

***What Are You Smoking?*** (November, 2019)

Just cracked a 2012 tin of C&D Crooked Lane. A little more damp than I'm used to C&D blends being. Not bowling me over with flavor at the moment, but what's there is nice. VA forward for sure...

Next to last bowl of 2003 G.L. Pease Piccadilly in this big Alpha bent egg. Wanted to get as much of this light English goodness as possible into this bowl!

2014 Comoy Cask No.11 in this Pete shape 150. 3yr old is enjoying a late 2019 Caramel Apple lollipop while we watch the fox & grey squirrels harvesting pine cobs from the loblolly trees out back. Nearly perfect fall day!

***What Are You Smoking?*** (November, 2019)

Yesterday’s first smoke of the day was Presbyterian Mixture - it was the best bowl of this blend yet. So, rinse and repeat this morning! Even better - I was about to give up on this blend as it was nothing special to me. Wow is it ever coming around! So, Presbyterian in an EA Carey billiard.
