Starting this Friday morning with MM 965 in a Dunhill Chestnut billiard.

If You Were Stranded On a Deserted Island With Only One Tobacco...

Very tough to play by the rules, but I think it would have to be C&D Tuskegee Airmen.

Virginia blends with deep, earthy flavors?

I’m def tracking with your Briar Fox recommendation - that one crossed my mind too ;)

*** What Are You Smoking?*** (September 2019)

C&D Tuskegee Airmen in an 80’s Group 4 Dunhill Dress billiard. The whimsy of sitting on my porch barefoot in a T & cutoff sweats smoking well aged tobacco out of a Dunhill dress pipe just makes me chuckle ;)

Virginia blends with deep, earthy flavors?

You may immediately disregard this recommendation as it contains a whopping 25% Perique - but the tin of C&D Bayou Morning Flake I am working through struck me as deeply earthy and creamy. The perique content is at times peppery, but mostly it’s just dark, not too tangy, stewed fruit. This tin...

*** What Are You Smoking?*** (September 2019)

G.L. Pease Piccadilly 2003 in a big 70’s Alpha Virgin bent egg. You can just make out the bleed through at the airway into the bowl bottom from the salt/alcohol treatment I gave it a couple of decades ago trying to eradicate its ghosts. It left scars, but took away the perfume!

    First Ultimate Bowl

Late 90’s walking into a cigar shop I used to visit occasionally, the guy behind the counter said; “You smoke a pipe?” I told him I did infrequently. He said, “Here, get this cat piss out of here” and handed me a recently opened tin of Ashton Old London Pebblecut, blended by McClelland. I took...

*** What Are You Smoking?*** (September 2019)

Pease Robusto 2017 in this ‘70’s Alpha.

*** What Are You Smoking?*** (September 2019)

Oliva Connecticut Reserve Churchill. Didn't want to deal with all the relights while typing a presentation - still reeling from the Pease Robusto multiple relight fiasco last week.?

Iwan Ries September Sales of Yore

Absolutely! Definitely remember the Fall IR sale - I even remember when they used to mail a catalogue for it! Purchased a Stanwell, couple of Ashton’s, a Pete and I think a Bjarne through the years? I also remember riding the dingy little brown elevator up to the shop from street level and the...

    Pipes Around The World?

+1 regarding Alpha from the Shalom factory in Israel. Later Alphas we’re produced in the US and took a step down in quality (IMO) and no longer were made from the same briar stock. Stick with 70’ & early 80’s production which are mostly stamped Israel. Shameless plug: I purchased a dealers...

*** What Are You Smoking?*** (September 2019)

C&D Bayou Morning Flake in a Pete Killarney Pot.

Starting the day with a bowl of 2004 Butera Pelican in a rusticated ‘70’s Alpha.

*** What Are You Smoking?*** (September 2019)

Pease Robusto (2017) in an EA Carey billiard. Sweet tea sipping while watching the Ibis stalking the pond edge.

*** What Are You Smoking?*** (September 2019)

C&D Stratfordshire in an Alpha bent apple.

*** What Are You Smoking?*** (September 2019)

The tin of 2014 Bayou Morning Flake I cracked this past weekend is finally dried to where I like it - so, loaded up an E A Carey billiard and introduced fire. Yum! Very peppery.
