Love the Pipe, Hate the Stem?

Think I'll leave it to the professionals and have it trimmed down. In the meantime, it'll become a sittin' pipe.

Love the Pipe, Hate the Stem?

    That's GREAT! Thanks.

Love the Pipe, Hate the Stem?

Correct Cosmic. Re-stemming is the easiest option but is the most expensive. I don’t have access to many tools here, but maybe finding someone to modify the original acrylic stem might be cheaper?

Love the Pipe, Hate the Stem?

So I bought a new Viprati from Cup o' Joes recently, fantastic little smoker. Cool and dry as they come. I'm really enjoying this one. Problem is, the acrylic stem is less than comfortable. It's a tapered stem, but still a bit too thick towards the end, and as I often lunt, it's becoming...

Pipe Cleaner Preferences (One More Time)

I have various types (bristle, tapered, fluffy etc.) for deep cleaning purposes, but for everyday use, I find it incredibly hard to beat Blitz.

Virginia blends with deep, earthy flavors?

Capstan Blue comes to mind. Or any VA with a few years of age on it.

    HU Tobaccos

Hoping someone might have a lead on some of the HU tobaccos. Can't seem to find them here in the US online, is their distribution limited to Europe etc. or is it just another one of those hard to obtain blending houses? Thanks.

What Is Your Favorite "Manly" Poem?

This is a favorite of mine. Not sure if it qualifies as "manly"... Nature’s first green is gold, Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf’s a flower; But only so an hour. Then leaf subsides to leaf. So Eden sank to grief, So dawn goes down to day. Nothing gold can stay.

    New Robert McConnell at Sp.com

I think the OP is referring to the new Dunhill clones? I am also a fan of their Oriental and Scottish blends, but I cannot find any info on tobaccoreviews about these new tins. The McConnell blends that supposedly are the Dunhill 2.0 blends have different names, i.e. Early Bird for EMP. Cup O...

Recommendations For First Excursion Into Virginias

+1 for OGS and Capstan Blue. Both solid VA blends, IMO.

    Battle of the Balkans

I suggest trying both Whiteknight and Blackhouse side by side. They’re both wonderful IMO. I’d also throw a vote for PS Balkan.

Storage humidty vs. drying tobacco for smoking

I'm in the dry it first camp, then jar it up and have it at the right moisture when I want to enjoy it. My only exception to this rule are with blends that I'm aging for long term storage. In this case, the bulk blends go straight into a mylar bag and are sealed and tagged for a later date. Good...

    Cellar in Tin or Glass?

Like Sable and Hoosier, I also have made the switch to mylar storage, at least so far with all the bulk that I currently have on stock. It saved me a ton of space!

Pipe Clenching Is A Game Changer

+1 jp. I found I was drooling everywhere with those things on my stems. So what if I've got chatter on my pipes? I've also got dark rims from lots of use over time, so...
