TAD, One Lone Tin of Apertif

It was one of the first blends that I "got". I find myself reaching for it over others like it in my rotation, even to this day.

The Best Soft Flame Lighter Brand and Model

Agree with the above. Zippo with butane pipe insert. No leaks and you dont taste the butane unlike the lighter fluid.

New Hinkle Pipe and a Recommendation

Here is my only Hinkle pipe, a lovat from the KC pipe show a few years back. Have yet to smoke it, but it keeps peeping at me from the rack. Soon enough!

NYC - Chelsea District - Pipe Shop Recommendations

Be sure to check out Paley Park in midtown. One of the only public places where you can sit and smoke outside anymore!

Finally Found Sir Walter Raleigh Aromatic In A B&M

SWR Aro is possibly my favorite OTC blend. Just the right amount of flavors. Have yet to try it in the tub - ray, what differences do you notice?

OTC Curiousity Got The Best Of Me

I’ll also add Peterson’s Wild Atlantic. Solid pouch that I will be jarring up for the future.

OTC Curiousity Got The Best Of Me

    Pipe App

Yeah, it would need to be simple to use, but able to be customized through hidden menus so that you could really be detailed if you wanted to. I use Evernote for all my pipe journal needs. I created custom spreadsheets with the info that I wanted to keep track of and it syncs across my home...

    Two New Clenchers

Nice pipes! I also clench and find even the slightest weight difference between pipes makes a difference to my mouth.

    Really Dry Tobacco?

I’m with cosmic, the drier the better. You may try doing a different pack? I’ve found really dry or fine tobacco like shag works well with a tight wad and stuff prep method.

    Daughters and Ryan bulk blends

I like Ryback a lot. I believe it also comes in tins as well as bags.

    How Do You Keep Track...

Evernote. I can create custom spreadsheets/tables to use as a tobacco journal and another for pipes. Syncs across all my devices so if I'm out and about I can update info as needed. Free, cloud-based solution. Don't have to worry about losing a paper journal.

    Packing Broad Cut

I find the pinch and stuff works best for broad cuts. A little twist as you're stuffing and you should be good to go.

    Giddy as a little kid

Damn man, time and again, you are smoking some beauties! Enjoy!

    Missouri Meerschaum

Nope, fire away. You'll learn what works for you and what doesn't in terms of tobacco moisture, packing technique and cadence. At the end of the day, if you are enjoying yourself, then you are doing it right. Have at it!

    No Love For Dunhill Blends

I grew up smoking Dunhill tins and they were (still are) some of my go-to blends. EMP, Aperitif and Royal Yacht are my favorite three, although I do also like the Flake. There are many others out there that are as good or better, so I'm not sweating it. Perhaps the K&K iterations will be good...
