I just did a quick "tin-ventory" (haha) and realized that I need to spend a few hundred dollars to mylar up all my tins and bulks! I'd love to hear from the codgers on this one, or the folks who aren't as fearsome about their cellars. Do you guys just accept that you'll lose a few tins to seals...- pianopuffer

I triple check my tins whenever I get an order via mail or at a B&M. Per another thread, I do notice the whiff of VA or latakia (depending on which bin I open), so I can't imagine that they suddenly pop themselves open, right? Cellaring In Sealed Bins
I was always under the impression that if you left sealed tins in a bin, they would eventually give off SOME sort of odor, even the slightest. I have my VA and lat blends separate, but always get a whiff when I open the bins up. Do I need to go through and triple check all of my seals.....good...- pianopuffer

I had some fun w/sealed round VA tins. I put one under the seat of my car over a 48hr period this summer, letting it "sit in the sun" and then I popped the tin two days later, so four days of total experimentation.
