    The Most Disappointing Tobacco

The one time, years ago, I was able to get some Stonehaven I wasn't particularly impressed. It wasn't bad, but to my palate, didn't live up to the hype.

    How Many In Your Rotation...

Bugs me to have too many options - not sure why. So, I keep 4 or 5 blends near my pipes. The cellar stays in a different part of the house, out of sight. Staples are old production Carter Hall and Lane's 1Q. To keep things interesting I usually have an open VA blend plus a lighter Latakia...

***What Are You Smoking, August 2023?***

Mix of Carter Hall and University Flake in a new-to-me estate 4103 Chestnut I picked up this weekend. The rim is a tad damaged but the price was so attractive I couldn’t resist.

***What Are You Smoking, May 2023?***

I’ve been trying an experiment to see how much I can learn about a blend by sticking with a single blend in a single pipe until I’m through the tin. To keep things interesting I’m bumping it up to two blend/pipe combos at a time. Having said that, Haunted Bookshop in a Big Ben churchwarden:

***What Are You Smoking, May 2023?***

Hello Everyone, I’ve been away for a bit. Lots of changes and work and I haven’t been up for posting lately. Things are settling down again thankfully, so here goes… Consummate Gentleman in a Sav 320 with a cup of strong Colombian. Have a great weekend, everyone!

***What Are You Smoking, April 2023?***

And on to a bowl of Windjammer in a Stanwell. I’m adopting a one-tin-at-time approach in an attempt to whittle down my collection of open jars.

***What Are You Smoking, April 2023?***

Enjoying a combination of Gray Ghost ( the last of the tin) and some Windjammer in the Sav 677 Saturnia. Also having some work done at the house including a new fence and patio. Big project!

    Savinelli lines exclusive to Germany?

Hi Everyone, A week or two ago I followed an ad from here to a German pipe retailer. They had one or two Savinelli lines that were only distributed in Germany. One was a smooth finish with a red cumberland-esque acrylic stem similar to the Harp line from Peterson. I can't find that site now...

    Oil cured pipes besides Dunhill/Ashton?

Yes, I think we’re on the same page. In fact, I think Wiley worked for Edward’s quite a while ago and that’s how he got his start?

    Oil cured pipes besides Dunhill/Ashton?

I don't think Edward's makes their own pipes anymore... Last time I was at the store in Tampa they had a few original Edward's in a case and everything on the wall was of Italian original.

Non-Floral Gawith, Hoggarth & Co. Bulk Recommendations?

Same here, I don't pick up any floral essence at all from Dark Birds Eye. All I get is classic Virginia a healthy dose of dark fired Kentucky.

    Recent TAD Pick-Ups

    Recent TAD Pick-Ups

They said they had some Margate which isn't my cup of tea. Unfortunately, I was in a hurry. The Gold Brick caught my eye and I was out the door pretty quickly (after paying, of course).

    Recent TAD Pick-Ups

Yesterday I picked up a block of Wessex Gold Brick from Puff’n’Stuff in Atlanta. It was my first visit to the shop and while a little on the small side had a great variety of pipes, tins and bulk. I’ll definitely be going back.
