Quality of new Dunhill pipes compared to old.

Honestly, esthetically, I lean toward the new Dunhills. How is the quality/smokability these days compared to old ones? I assume the quality also varied fro the 20s to 80s, etc? Links to info also appreciated :)

    Cat safe tobacco drying

I’m getting some cheap, Muslin bags. I’m thinking they should be porous enough for tobacco to dry out and deter the kitties from eating and getting sick. Anyone else use a similar method?

    The Castello I’m waiting on

I still want a giant GG Sea rock lovat but I couldn’t not get this one based purely on looks. I love this Italian bent apple look with the sterling bling. I am trying to be patient as it’s shipping from UK. The stain on this is also beautiful to me, I wonder if it’s common in Castellos

    Xmas Italian pipes?

I’m a lucky guy, I am getting a Ser jacabo, Caminetto, and Costello. The first two are estate pipes, Costello will be new and the big gift. I got a nice little Xmas bonus from work! These are my first “fancy” pipes. Fancy to me anyway. I’m a sucker for Italian pipes.I’ll post pics when I have...

When to buy a high grade pipe

I currently have 4 mid grade 100-150 dollar pipes. I’ve got my eye on a couple of lower end high grades but I know I still have a lot to learn with my current pipes. I’d likely trade in a couple of the mid grades and buy one in the 200-350 price range. My reasons for doing this are the pipe...

    newbie pipe addiction

I’m keeping it in the 100-200 dollar range while still in practicing mode. I don’t want to burn up an artisanal piece and not even sure it’s appropriate at this stage unless I find a good estate deal. I wasn’t happy with my starter Savinelli 320, my Peterson 106 and moonshine cannonball both...
