    How Cold Is Too Cold?

I'm up in canada, so most of what y'all saying is not even considered cold in winter time haha. That being said I have migrated to the warmest part of canada(vancouver area) where it doesnt get below 0°(32f) very often. Right now it's 6°c(43f) which around the average temp this time of year and...

    Seeking Knowledge

Recently sold a kriswill saga canadian pipe. Quality pipe that smoked smooth and was made well. Not heavy at all, actually quite light. It all depends on how thick it is. Mine wasn't very thick walled and had a somewhat thinner oval shank. I wasn't a big fan of the bit though, so I sold it.

***What Are You Smoking, January 2021?***

Whole leaf blend. Something a little brighter than my recent ky/va/or blends which included black stoved Virginia and perique. 40% kentucky 30% stoved red virginia 20% stoved bright virginia 10% prelip A sprinkle of basma Kentucky is the backdrop. Stoved red adds some sweetness and bready...

    Tobacco Recommendations for a Beginner.

Lots of good suggestions here. Try a cob. As for blends, try some bold kentucky or irish flake. If you like cigars these stronger blends might sit well. The irish flake has a slight flavoured topping and the bold kentucky is more natural.

The Real Way To Clean Your Pipe

Tried it today because of this thread, knew of it before but stuck to my old ways. It was easier, less time consuming and less messy than an alcohol scrub down. And the taste is fab. Have to say I'm sold.

    Pipe Tobacco Reviews

I read them quite often when trying to make new blends(i only smoke my own whole leaf blends) . I mostly just refer to Jiminks reviews as they are actually to the point and describe the flavours and leaf used and not buddy's life story with no actual information on the tobacco lol.

    Meer Is Being Weird

Happens with mine too. I use a folded damp non bristle pipe cleaner and rub the inside of the bowl with good pressure from my finger after every bowl or two. It does the job pretty good. I never found paper towel to really keep the cake off completely. With the pipe cleaner i can apply a bit...

***What Are You Smoking, December 2020?***

Been amping up the strength lately and loving the stoved va/oriental/perique combo in my blends. Fruity spicy aromatic and creamy. Whole leaf blend. Ribbon cut. 55% kentucky 20% black stoved bright virginia 17% perique 8% prelip Strong and spicy, but the stoved va softens things and adds...

    Old Film Cameras

I'm a big fan of film, maybe go through a roll a month or two. Mostly digital though, my girlfriend has a very nice canon. I like my Diana+ Lomo film camera though. It's obviously a cheap plastic toy compared to most film cameras, but what it lacks in prescision it makes up for in artistic...

***What Are You Smoking, December 2020?***

Whole leaf blend. Some more of that strong kentucky blend I mixed up the other day, this time with a touch of oriental and pressed into a crumble cake. Kind of inspired by moztek dark twist(just kentucky and perique) but I like my blends a little more aromatic and with slightly less strength...

Temperatures of Smoke in Different Pipe Areas?

Not really sure. Depends how far down the tobacco gets burned, how close it is to that silicone. I don't think smoke coming out of the bit is even remotely close to 230°, maybe more like 70 °c otherwise you would be burning your tongue, and the smoke doesn't cool down very drastically from the...

    Pipe Regrets

I do regret not purchasing more pipes at flea markets when I went to europe last year(still kicking myself for the gbd silver band one!). They were in a abundance everywhere for less than 20$. I bought maybe 20 or so but should have just filled my luggage with them haha. Most were for refurbish...

Feeling like something with some oomph! Whole leaf blend. Ribbon cut. 50% kentucky 25% perique 10% black stoved red virginia 10% black stoved bright virginia 5% latakia Dark, spicy, rich and smoky. With a little caramel sweetness from the bright stoved and the red stoved gives some fruity...

    Smoking a Pipe at 36

I'm 34. Started smoking pipe maybe 12 years ago, but only occasionally (mostly cigs) but since a year ago I've gone full time pipe and given up the cigs. So glad I did! Ive gotten the odd look but people have no problems with it and mostly just say " my grandpa used to smoke a pipe" with a...
