***What Are You Smoking, June 2020?***

Mac Baren HH Old Dark Fired in a MM unplastered Diplomat apple. A big steaming cup of masala chai to accompany, on a cool, overcast Pacific Northwest day.

***What Are You Smoking, June 2020?***

First ever bowlful of Watch City Old Black Magic. This is the first WC blend I haven't liked from the get-go. This particular batch is as damp as any sozzled aromatic ever thought about being, and rubbing out a generous couple of pinches and letting it sit out for about 30 minutes before...

***What Are You Smoking, June 2020?***

After 2 bowls of C & D Sansepolcro in an Ali bent billiard meer, I can say this blend has definitely piqued my interest. It's good fresh out of the tin, but I'm going to put my other tins away and let them sit a while (at least 6 months). There's a small but persistent harshness to the...

***What Are You Smoking, June 2020?***

@rushx9 - that's a mighty evocative description: "hot horse trailer". Maybe they can use that to reel in the affluent pipe-smoking hippophiles! I have a few tins of C & D's Sansepolcro coming my way today, and am going to make that my first bowl of the day.

***What Are You Smoking, June 2020?***

Edgar G. Robinson's blend in a MM Washington cob. 'Evening, all!

***What Are You Smoking, June 2020?***

    I hadn't before you mentioned them - I googled and got "Club d'Elf", a Boston-area band?

***What Are You Smoking, June 2020?***

4Noggins' Bald Headed Teacher in a Briarworks bullmoose. Beautiful late afternoon here!

***What Are You Smoking, June 2020?***

One of my college buddies said something similar; he said he couldn't take these bands seriously, because the vocalists all sounded like someone had a Sesame Street character on a medieval torture rack! :ROFLMAO: Do you like Om or Mastodon?

***What Are You Smoking, June 2020?***

Wilkes Cherry Cavendish in a Volkan bullcap pipe, with a bottle of unflavored seltzer water.

***What Are You Smoking, June 2020?***

It sounds like you're trying a lot of different blends, too, which is the only real way to find out wutcha really like! puffy

***What Are You Smoking, June 2020?***

A handsome bit o' briar there!

***What Are You Smoking, June 2020?***

I only smoked a bowl of that blend once, and I found the grape component so over the top, and it so thoroughly dominated anything else that I dumped it out halfway through. Maybe C & D have toned it down a bit, or maybe your tin is a bit older?

***What Are You Smoking, June 2020?***

    Don't ask, don't tell.

***What Are You Smoking, June 2020?***

Maybe it's a generic one made by a randy woodworker with a sideline in tampers and, er, briar plugs?
  15. marlinspike

***What Are You Smoking, June 2020?***

Isn't that just to seal up the pipe after it's been packed and partially smoked, but you want to save the remainder to smoke later? Like the ones Savinelli make.

***What Are You Smoking, June 2020?***

C& D Crooner in a MM Missouri Pride (one of the 3 I got in a bag of "smokeable seconds" just before the shutdown happened).

    Stem Material

Horn is a nice stem material too. I don't detest acrylic the way some smokers do, but given a choice, I'll always take ebonite or horn.

HU Tobacco -- Need Advice On An Order

Several people on this thread carrying out the rationalization self-conversation we all know all too well ("I'll hold off buying any more tobacco after this order....").
