***What Are You Smoking, June 2020?***

This is the only Volkan I have, but if the rest of their lineup is as good, they make a fine pipe. I use it for aromatics solely (mostly the Wilke Cherry Cavendish, as it's not a sodden mess, and has a pleasantly light cherry flavor). The seller on eBay seems to have mostly stopped doing this...

I ain’t either...nor am I mad at Walter Raleigh, or Carter Hall. They are what they are, and are fine at being what they are.

I'm not @jiminks , but that is indeed Edward G. Jim also played a part in rescuing EGR's signature tobacco blend from extinction.

***What Are You Smoking, June 2020?***

This day has been crazy enough that I haven't had time until now to smoke a bowlful...and it's C & D Star of the East, in a MM Pride cob.

Aye, that'll get you arrested in plenty of places.

    Pocket Pipes

I also have one of the Al Pascia Curvy nosewarmer pipes (reverse calabash) that I bought unsmoked from an eBay sale. It's a fine little pipe, but not as small and practical as the Paulson Devil Anses.

    Pocket Pipes

I liked his version of the Costner Devil Anse model so much, I ordered a second one, in a different finish and stem color. I also use them for flakes (and coins, occasionally). They weigh so little, and are ideal little clenching pipes.

    Awakened Elder by C&D

Yep, trying to keep the Old Ones out of this dimension is a thankless, never-ending job! When the Call of Cthulhu hits caller ID on your cell phone, best to decline to answer, that's for sure.

    Awakened Elder by C&D

I bought a batch of the Lovecraft-themed tins when Smokingpipes had their C &D sake recently, but I haven’t cracked any of them open yet.

I like the open rationalization in your last sentence. As if....

    Done With Aro's

That learning curve is why I really don't care for people new to the hobby being advised to take up aromatics. Aromatic blends require more knowledge to deal with in preparation, and a more developed cadence and pacing. New folks get these bite-inducing aromatics, think they smell wonderful in...

    Done With Aro's

I find I dislike most aromatics, but not Wilke's Cherry Cavendish. It's not a damp mess like so many are.

Back to the C & D Sansepolcro in an Ali bent billiard meer. A beautiful late spring evening, fading away to a cool, pale evening, after an afternoon of rain. Good evening all, and smoke 'em in good health!
