Attn: Peterson Pipe Enthusiasts! You're Going to Enjoy This

I also hope they'll return to using more vulcanite stems on some of their classic models.

Attn: Peterson Pipe Enthusiasts! You're Going to Enjoy This

I always wish Peterson well, loving their pipe designs and history, but I really hope Laudisi can help them turn around some quality control issues in their manufacturing. I have an Irish Harp 80s that I want to love, since I dig the shape so much, but it's just an OK finished pipe (and smoker...

    New Warped Tobaccos

Right. Like he's gonna shout at the dude, "Man, this tripe blows! Getcher foul pipeweed and your carcass off my Youtube channel!"

Searching For One Thing, Brought Home A Ropp Vintage Sandblasted 29C

Those Ropps with horn stems are a pretty good value. I really like those coffee-and-cream colored horn stems.

Hello! New Pipe Smoker from Scotland

I hear you. I don’t have much use for surgical iodine in a glass of whiskey either.

    Hello From Central Florida

Near Lake City (ever heard that Tom Petty song where he sings something about playing a show in a "redneck bar in Lake City"?). Haven't been back in years, though, and probably would barely recognize it if I did.

    Hello From Central Florida

Welcome! I grew up in FLA myself, but haven't lived there since I was 17. The cost-per-smoke for a lot of good pipe tobacco blends is more favorable than lots of cigars, I find. You don't have to spend a ton of money on the pipe itself, if you don't want to.

Stoved CD Carolina Red Flake 4-24-20

Way to take one for the team! I'll be interested to hear your results.

Wood at the Bottom of Missouri Meerschaum Bowls

What @chasingembers said above - they have a particular strain of corn they use, developed years ago for both and size and density of the cob itself.

Wood at the Bottom of Missouri Meerschaum Bowls

It was my understanding that their producing the hardwood pipes was a business expedient during a time when their corn crops didn't provide sufficient cob inventory.

    New Warped Tobaccos

I’d be interested - but dammitall, there ain’t enough dollars and time to sample all the pipeweed there is these days, and I need to sit down with the stuff I already have. I have 2 tins of Pirate Kake I’ve been meaning to get to for the last 6 months...

    Thoughts After A Week

I’m not surprised that you’re finding the Cobbit to smoke more pleasantly. Plaster and cob will do that.

    Thoughts After A Week

I agree re: the Orlik Golden Sliced and the Stokkebye; easy to smoke and source, and easy to wrap one’s head around them, so to speak. I’ll also put in a word for Newminster No. 400, of you want a flake ‘baccy to try out at some point; it’s the tobacco I usually reach for on a day-to-day basis.
