A lot of places do samples of one type of tobacco (like an aromatic sampler or English sampler), if I were you, I would try to sample a wide range of tobacco blend types, like a blend with lots of latakia, a blend with a little latakia, a blend with lots of orientals...- mick

Holy fragaroli! I never heard of that before. I suggest you carry some kitchen matches if at all possible, or at least a small box of wooden matches. I almost exclusively smoke corn cob pipes and I have never had that experience (not even CLOSE!) so I definitely think you should get another...- mick

Rattray's Red Rapparee or Robert McConnell: Oriental are two very good oriental blends that have little-to-no tongue bite. If you want something with a heavier latakia, try 3 Oaks Syrian, which also has zero bite to it.- mick

Now that does surprise me. I have never felt any lady nic in Grousemoor. It makes me wonder if it has something to do (somewhat) with the blends and an individual's body chemistry. I notice my physical reaction to tobaccos doesn't always correspond to their supposed strength rating. :?- mick
