Forbidden Fruit - Mixing Blends Together.

Today's experiment with 2 more of Russ's blends: Vermont Meat Candy and Black House. I split it about 50/50. I was surprised how mellow his has tasted throughout the whole bowl with little accents of Latakia here and there. Both blends are creamy and smoky but now it's really mushroom creamy...

In Praise of The Humble Cob.

I swapped some of the stems in my grab bag and made my country gentleman pipes into straights and they are my very favorite now. I'm also really digging on the legends as well. Can't wait to get my hands on a Freehand soon. My seconds were all in great shape. the only thing wrong with any of...

In Praise of The Humble Cob.

thanks for the tip Roth, i have indeed thought about doing that. I just need to go grab some balsa. I have been washing them and letting them dry and it seems to prolong the life quite a bit. i also second the idea of the 10 pipe grab bag from MM. That's how i got most of my cobs. I have a...

    The One That Got Away...

Dear mike, I hate you. Just kidding. I only my hate myself for literally sleeping in this. I will cry into my cobs for the rest of the night. I saw that other pipe too. It is in much worse shape and MUCH more expensive just to start the auction. :'(

In Praise of The Humble Cob.

I too have some restricted airways in some of my cobs from the clench. I have been looking to acquire a couple forever stems but I think that might alter the perception of my cob relaxation. I'm also wanting a freehand and would love to see a bulldog come back.

In Praise of The Humble Cob.

This is just a post to say that i have really been enjoying my cobs lately. So much that my briars and meers are mostly sitting to the side. My "nicest" briar pipes are reserved for my english / lat blends but beyond that i am loving everything in a cob these days. I've taken to putting a...
