Best Drug Store Tobacco?
I haven't tried any OTC tobacco in years and in fact have barely seen any of the old classic OTC brands available in a while. I just stopped into rite-aid in Portland and they had a bit of a selection. Some terrible bulk aromatics, some RYO types like bugler and drum, also the captain blacks...- hans

Cleaned my Pipes Last Night (Olive Oil)
I use a dab of olive oil once in a while and then rub it in really well and then buff it off. You can't just plop it on there and leave it on! No wonder your pal's pipes got nasty. -

Sounds like air bubbles.
Also you can dry our your tobaccos for about 30 minutes before smoking. depending on how goopy your aros are. If you smoke a pipe with a filter such as a sav, brigham or MM cob it will help eliminate that moisture. Also, sometimes just slowing down will help. countdown to Roth coming in with...- hans

Just got an unsmoked old stock MM freehand from eBay. The pictures weren't great but I pulled the trigger at only $17 it was a steal. Once it got here it had a bit of oxidation on the stem which I took care of and sweetened the pipe with some Bulleit Rye whiskey. Best part about this pipe is... -

Cigrmaster, that Ruthenberg bent apple is a beauty! I'm smoking my first bowl of Pelican in my much maligned Amadeus straight pot pipe. I just opened up the draft a bit today so it's a good test. So far i like the Pelican okay but nothing to write home about.- hans
