Beefier Pipes
So, I have found that, over the years, I prefer slightly longer, thick-walled pipes. The heavier bodies seem to fit well in hand and the thicker walls surely result in a cooler pipe to hold. My favorites include a few Neerups, 4th Generations, Petersons and even a couple of sub premium Lorenzo... -
Frustration Not Relaxation
Try some nice blends that are known to be easy to keep lit. Not too few pipe tobaccos out there are known to be a bit challenging to keep burning. Try Red Rapaaree or Father Dempsey and see how it goes.- badbriar

Upset by Intolerance to Latakia
Kind of unusual, this sensitivity to Latakia. Most times, sensitivities are to Virginias and aromatics and occasionally Burleys. It may be the draw rate, getting the tobacco too hot and frying you. Wet tobacco will also surely give a sort of 'steam' burn. Try a different pipe and slowly sip...- badbriar
