    You're on a desert island

Cast Away... who knows, I might learn some valuable survival skills. ;-) Soundtrack from Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. Then I can imagine the movie and then have two movies to "watch" on the island! Simon

Welcome New Members. Introduce Yourself. (2)

Hey Dave, welcome to the forum! Your story sounds like mine. Enjoy your pipe, and don't be intimidated by the guys that hang around here with 50-500 pipes and tobacco stashes that have their own zip code! :-D Everyone's great and helpful at answering questions. Simon

How many bowls do you smoke in a day or a week?

Two per week. I would like more: so many tobaccos to try! Even at my Canadian-tax-impaired rate of accumulation, I'm stashing more than I'm smoking. I've got six blends in my stash and at least three more that I really want to try. It takes me three weeks just to rotate through! :'( Simon

List Your Other Hobbies / Interests

I try my hand at a lot of things. My wife's very supportive, no matter how off-the-wall or disconnected things seem. My daughter's into her second year of karate and her old man's trying to catch up! Simon

    Future of Erinmore?

Ah, thanks for the info, igloo! However, since my tobacconist doesn't stock PS, I might be pinched either way! Oh well. I'll see what he has to say. Thanks again. Simon

    Future of Erinmore?

Over in the June 2010 What are you Smoking? thread, dunedain made this post: I recently started a dialog with my local tobacconist about getting some Erinmore Flake to try, but he was having trouble getting some from the distributor. He had a couple of tins of Erinmore Mixture on the shelf...

My antique pipe rack restoration project

That stain color looks good. I'm partial to reddish stains myself and it was what I had in mind when I posed the question. The humidor/pipe rack will definitely look good next to the other "accoutrements" of your garage... although from the pics I'd say that "mantuary" is a better word for it! I...

My antique pipe rack restoration project

Neat! I watched that 6-pipe humidor, and it didn't sell. It's back on eBay again. Keep us posted with your restoration. What are you planning for the stain? Simon

    Pictures of my pipes

Who knows, maybe I'll accrue a few more pipes and then post something in this thread. Like Hobie, I've got so few pipes that it seems pointless. You can see one of my two pipes in my avatar picture! Actually, I've talked to my wife about helping me update that picture, this time with my other pipe.

June 2010 - What are you Smoking?

McClelland Vanilla Black Cavendish in my Brigham rusticated apple. It's a wonderful evening and I'm sitting outside without a heater or a sweater for the first time this year. It's been that kind of spring.

    Your Favorite Material Items

Hmmm... You see, right now I'm at a spot in my life where my attachments are more towards non-material things. Make no mistake, I'm not a monk and I have a lot of things, but there are very few things that I own that I would pull my hair out and gnash my teeth over if my house burned to the...

Straight Perique - Smoking Tip of the Day

LOL! I had my first perique experience last week and it really threw me. That stuff is strong. Thanks for the warning, but I don't think I would have tried it even fueled by Godfathers*. Simon * Godfather - 1 oz whiskey, 1 oz amaretto. Neat or over ice. classicgeek's favorite drink.
