    TAD Purchases

Here I am in San Diego, far from my native Canada. I found a local shop, Captain Hunt Tobacconists and browsed through their selection. At first I was dissappointed, because I wanted to find something that I couldn't get back home. They stocked a lot of McClelland blends. But I persevered and...

July 2010 - What are you smoking?

LOL Hobie1dog. I can't say that I've run into a blend that does that to me yet, but I can imagine. Simon

Tobacco Cellaring - There\'s an App for That

That's really cool. I'm typing this on my iPod Touch right now and I'm going to look at this app. seems to me that a mobile-friendly front door to a site like TR would be really handy, since the main site only is mediocre on a mobile device. Simon

i am doing the pee pee dance

Don't talk about pee pee dances! I came here looking to escape from the trials of potty training my youngest. He's a fighter, that one. Simon

July 2010 - What are you smoking?

Mix of McClelland's bulk burley and Colombian mocha in my Brigham apple. First smoke in a week due to life being crazy. Tastes wonderful. Hopefully I'll get on a more regular schedule now. Simon

Re-Charge with Your Pipe by Chelsea Morning

Maybe pipesmagazine.com should move to an entirely moderated system where all posts have to be approved by the grammar police... NOT! Nobody wants that, least of all me! I promise never to do it again in the forums. Live long and prosper.

    How many blends are there?

I don't think it's possible to comprehend all of those blends, let alone smoke 'em. Kinda like trying to imagine infinity: your head will explode. If someone did set out on a quest to smoke them all, by the time they passed the 1,000th blend, would they really remember the nuances of #57...

    Habit or pleasure?

I'm with Dave, surfmac and Hobie1dog and Kevin... No addiction. Just in love with the taste and smell and peace. I also am accumulating more than I smoke. It's all I can do not to come home with a new tin or baggie of something or other when I'm near the tobacconist. I love the tin smell and the...

June 2010 - What are you Smoking?

Mac Baren Plumcake in a Stanwell Hans Christian Andersen. After trying the VA's for a bit, I think I'm enjoying my retreat to aromatics, semi-aromatics and latakia blends. I guess that's just the way my tastebuds roll. Simon

    Pipe Lighter Pros, Cons, Recommendations

I recently got a lighter. It is a relatively cheap Chinese one at the bottom of this page. Over a couple of weeks, I've grown to appreciate the difference between a wooden match and the lighter. They both serve their purposes but convenience aside, I prefer the match. Simon

I second that! Amazing work. Welcome, Murad. There seems to be a small knot of artists developing here. Simon

McClelland Frog Morton - Pipe Tobacco Review

Frog Morton on the town is my first non-aromatic and I love it. Everybody has their own opinions on taste and smell, but that guy's complete (and comic) disgust at the tin aroma of the Frog is baffling to me. It's all I can do not to run downstairs right now and open the tin and breathe deeply...

June 2010 - What are you Smoking?

I'm here, too, but it's not a pipe night for me, I'm afraid. Daughter's not going to sleep, bad hayfever. DGT until tomorrow, when I'll be thumbing my pipe full of Plumcake. Sad state of affairs when all you got is a couple of Canucks keepin' ya company... Simon
