    My First Savinelli

I bought mine in order to dedicate it to two of my favorite aromatics, Stokkebye Dansk Black and MacBaren 7 Seas Black. I noticed while smoking those in a Dr. Grabow I have that has a wide "pot" shape to the bowl, that the flavor seemed to be much more pronounced. Especially compared with a more...

    My First Savinelli

I bought that exact same pipe about 6 months ago. Wait till you actually get your hands on it, the bowl on that pipe is HUGE!!! Because of the size of the bowl however, it does take some practice and experimenting with packing techniques as the tobacco has a tendency to burn a little unevenly.

    Mouth Cancer and Health Risks

That was totally uncalled for. Junkie was just paying him a compliment.

Current Magazine Ad With a Pipe in It

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that cover is a fake. It has an issue date of June 1938. The first of issue of Playboy was published in 1953. :puffpipe:

    New Ranger by Macqueen

I have the Wizard (briar bowl) and the White Wizard. I can't speak for the Ranger pipe, but these two smoke just as well as any other pipe I've smoked. Having said that, you're not the only one to have said that. There were several video reviews I saw once where each person said the pipes didn't...

Esoterica Tobacco Blends - Opinions (Except Penzance & Stonehaven)

I noticed this as well the first time I tried 'And So To Bed'. When I cracked open that tin for the first time, it smelled like a jar of Spanish olives. Not a bad thing by any means, just wasn't expecting it. :puffy:

After hearing about another anti-smoking bylaw

WILL SOMEONE THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!! Whenever I see someone use this as an argument, it just reminds that they have no argument.

Lighters - Peterson vs Corona Accord or Old Boy

I'm in Ohin3's boat. I own a Corona Old Boy and as you would expect, I think its an outstanding lighter. Having said that, I have heard nothing but good reviews about the Peterson. They are both high quality lighters that will serve you well. It really comes down to which is more aesthetically...

    Free Samples

It took about 3 months for my sample from Altadis to arrive. However, my sample of Skandinavik Full Aroma from STG only took about 3 weeks.

    Altadis

Can't school you on Altadis, but I might be able to help you with a replacement for Old Fashioned Maple. Try Cornell & Diehl's Autumn Evening. Its a pretty popular blend with a heavy maple casing.

    MacBaren ODF

It includes tobacco harvested in 1974 and 1983? Wow!

    Long Break

Welcome back! Edwards is great isn't it? I just wish they stayed open a little later.

    Rethinking Penzance

I'm not a Penzanceohalic like Hobie by any stretch, but it really is one of the best blends out there. I thought it was damn good fresh out of the tin, but I concur that aging it seems to really bring out the best in this blend. I have several ounces that have been aging in mason jars for going...

No thanks. I'll stick with tobacco.

    Dragon vs C&D's Bow-Legged Bear....

Bow-Legged Bear has been a rotation staple for me for awhile now. I first encountered it when I went to the local B&M and told the guy "What is the strongest, most flavorful non-aromatic tobacco you got?" He didn't say a word. Just reached up on the shelf behind him and grabbed a tin and slid it...

    H&H Fusilier's Ration

I liked it. It wasn't an "OMG!!! This is amazing!!!" kind of blend, but I like it enough that I'll keep ordering it when the mood strikes.
