    Oldest Pipe Smoker Here?

Great ad trailboss! I love my Kaywoodies. (And salutations to my older pipe brothers)

    Royal Crown Windsor

This was my final project for the weekend, a Royal Crown Windsor. I was lucky to get the pipe with the box and sock for under twenty bucks on "the bay". I've had it for a while but lacked the courage to take on the refurb project thinking I might do more harm than good. But after a few months of...

    Glad I was outbid

I had never heard of Mixture 79 so I looked it up on tobaccoreviews.com. First review: "If you were ever curious enough to wonder what it would be like to smoke a urinal cake, here you go." Ha ha!

    Glad I was outbid

Should I start the thread, "Show Us Your Toilet Pipes"?

    New Pipe Rack.... Now What?

Empty pipe racks are a leading cause of PAD.

    Glad I was outbid

I wasn't so lucky to be outbid on this: It's coming with two other pipes, so maybe the sting won't be so bad.

    Golden Duke Joins the Collection

It was a pleasure to bring the pipe back into use. It's a solid piece of old briar, light and well balanced in the mouth. I don't know how old it is, but I don't think it had ever been cleaned. I was going to post a picture of the mountain of cotton pads, swabs and pipe cleaners used on it but...

***What Are You Smoking*** (April 2014)

PS Balkan Supreme in a Dr Grabow Golden Duke. (With a side of Canadian Mist) A peak smoking experience.

    What a Friday

Good Grief! Makes me count my blessings. I have to say, I've been a coward in respect to the over 50 exam. My wife thought she'd be an example for me and went first. Turns out they didn't sterilize the scope from the previous exam so she had to come back every three months for an HIV and...

    Vote on draw preference

I find that an open draw gives me more control with less effort. I can't think of any advantage in having a tight draw!

    Golden Duke Joins the Collection

My collection of Dr Grabow pipes grows with this addition. Just got her cleaned up and ready today. Looks like new.

Another Chunk Out of My Freedom

I've only got a year until retirement. If I had my way I'd be building my cabin in the wilderness of Montana and smoking my pipe while typing my manifesto. This is going to be the longest year of my life!

New To Me $5 Pipe And A Question

Redbeard, I think you did a good job cleaning off the rim. I had the same problem with the white one I posted earlier. I started (gingerly) with with a nail file, switched to a micromesh pad then spit on a cotton pad finishing with a white diamond buff. Now I'm afraid to smoke it because I don't...

    Today's Estate Projects

Exactly right! I bought the lot of three pipes for $15.00, including shipping. The third pipe is missing the stem but came in a nice case. Someday I'll take a shot at getting that one back in shape too.

    Today's Estate Projects

Having the day off today, I started work on a couple of pipes from ebay. This Dr Grabow Viscount came with a lot of three pipes. I really don't like the look of "White Briar" pipes and I never would have purchased it by itself. However, it is collectible I suppose, so it will go into the drawer...

Another Chunk Out of My Freedom

We are self insured at the hospital where I work. Smokers are charged $50.00 a a month for the pleasure of doing something I choose to do, not at work, but in the privacy of my own home on my own time. The cigarette thing was out of control because staff would duck out of the hospital during...

    Small Pipes

Smaller pipes definitely have a place in the rotation. Tobacco flavors seem more intense in the small bowls. Here are my three midgets, an unknown maker, a Kaywoodie Colt and an old Yello-Bole:

Out of the Mouth of Babes . . .

I'm old enough to remember when ashtrays where considered furniture. Every room had to have at least one, either on a table or on a stand.

    $27+ for a 50g pouch of Pipe Tobacco (Ontario,CANADA)

You guys who have a hundred pounds of tobacco stashed away are the smart ones because we in the US are headed the same direction as Canada pretty quickly.I think I'll stop buying pipes and stock up on tobacco from now on.
