    Vuillard Aristocrat BEFORE & AFTER

Inspirational! I've got some pipes coming in from ebay this next week. I can only hope to do as well.

    New Captain Black blends

Captain Black is a blend I was forced to suffer during my stint in the Air Force overseas. It was one of the only tobaccos available on base that I could tolerate. I remember it started out ok but ended bitter, harsh and wet towards the end of the smoke. I'd like to read some current reviews...

    EDIFYING REFLECTIONS OF A TOBACCO-SMOKER

Misterlowercase, I like that version much better. He's not singing to the back row =) Plus, the instrumental interludes are a welcome break.

    Amazing Gift from Shaintiques

You have been blessed! Nice variety there.

    Nicotine: Stimulant or Sedative?

Wikipedia has a good article on the effects of nicotine. It all depends on which parts of the nervous system that are being stimulated and nicotine hits several of them. There is the mood lifting aspect and the physical systems aspect. Personally, I can do without the quickened pulse and higher...

A moment in Japan that I'll never forget

Once you declare a people "non-human" there is no limit to what can be done to them. I think what sets the German atrocities apart from the Japanese is the scope and institutionalization of the "final solution". No society is immune from this kind of thinking. The institution of slavery in...

    EDIFYING REFLECTIONS OF A TOBACCO-SMOKER

The only version I could find was some guy pounding the melody out on his piano. I'm going to attempt to link a version I have here closer to the original, though the singer is slightly more operatic than I enjoy. JS Bach Pipe Song

Tobacco Warehouse of Rapid City, SD - B&M

For NM music, I can recommend this album. ---> Red Cedar Medicine

Don’t Like It. What Do You Do?

I give all my failed tobaccos to my two sons who both seem to be a lot less discriminating when it comes to taste. To them it all tastes like..."tobacco". Bah!

Worst Part of ebay Estate Experience....

Redbeard, I knew an old lady many years ago who did astrological readings. She told me I like to create order from chaos. So I guess in my case it a Virgo thing. :-) Last week I posted about an LHS pipe that had a stem I couldn't remove. Well, I ended up shattering the stem trying to pry it...

    Santa Fe Pipe Store

I'll be in Santa Fe this summer seeing "Carmen". Maybe I'll come back with a pipe souvenir.

Worst Part of ebay Estate Experience....

So here is the former gross pipe newly transformed into a sweet, alcohol flavored collectible. It's stamped "Champion" on the bottom. While cleaning it up I was surprised to see the bowl is meer-lined. Not a bad pipe after all for only five bucks.

    Mystery pipe

Could you get a shot of what looks to be a logo on top of the stem?

A moment in Japan that I'll never forget

It must be a strange feeling, indeed. My great Uncle was Christian missionary in Japan starting in the 1920's. He was there during the Great Kanto Earthquake in 1924 and helped provide relief. When the War broke out he chose to remain and was imprisoned until later being traded in a prisoner...

    Removing Smoke Smell From Car

We use two products to neutralize biological odors in the hospital. One is called "m9" and it's made by Hollister. That's for spraying on surfaces. The other is for airborne odors and it's called "CarraFree". It's made by Carrington. I don't know how effective they would be for tobacco odors...

Trying to place a brick and mortar blend

There was a thread mentioning a similar blend earlier. May not be the same but here it is --> George Washington

Worst Part of ebay Estate Experience....

I realize estate pipes from ebay are not for everyone, but I find these a challenge. I've got an old Amphora poker coming in a few days with a cracked stem. I want to see if I can fix it and band it. It's cheap entertainment.

What Have You Found In Your Estate Pipe?

Well, the bugs and spider egg posts make my ancient filter look like a tasty cinnamon stick! I wasn't expecting a filter in my pipe. It's a "Champion" made in Switzerland, as far as I can tell at the moment. The purification process will begin on Wednesday for that one. Coming in the mail next...

Worst Part of ebay Estate Experience....

Yeah, maybe super-heated holy water would work better.

Worst Part of ebay Estate Experience....

....is twisting the stem off and seeing a moldy black filter hanging there. This calls for some super-heated alcohol....maybe an exorcism.
