Is Paper Dead?
We had a bluegrass jam at the house last night and everybody had their music on a tablet. Somebody would announce a set, there would be some tapping on screens, then music! Far cry from not that long ago when people would be carrying briefcases full of paper music and sorting through pages.- tuold

I imagine the paperclip worked just fine, but if you are going to be cleaning estate pipes often I recommend buying a dental pick at the grocery store. They are great for picking and scraping. I use mine on just about every pipe I refurbish. I'd sure like to see some pics when you are done... -

danielplainview might be able to do something with it, but it looks like it would need repairs beyond what I could do as an amateur. Are those exterior bowl cracks a sign of burn through? I think we can rule Beethoven out. Here's his death mask for comparison. Internet searches lead to some interesting places. Masks of Famous Dead People Of course the pipe carving could be Beethoven as the pipe carving thought he should look. Artistic License, I suppose.- tuold
