Fold and stuff flakes
I smoke unrubbed flake only when in high winds. Otherwise, I seem to be reaching for the lighter more frequently and I'm desperately trying to conserve fossil fuels for future generations.- hugodrax

Wouldn't say completely indifferent, but that was the one that brought her running. And definitely the only one she'd sniff at the rising smoke. Weird, I know. -

The bouvier (ridiculous name, fairly decent beast) assumes that if pipe, then back yard and begins snorting and wiggling her stump of a tail the minute she sees it. Doesn't take any particular notice of the actual smoke, preferring to snuffle around the bushes and generally amuse herself... -

Has Peterson Quality Really Declined?
I will always be loyal to Peterson, but I have to admit that I was thoroughly unimpressed with the quality of an 8s Deluxe my wife bought me last fall. The stem left the factory with wavy tooling marks. But I will say, like all of my Petes, even an atrocious B5 donegal, ugly as sin, loose stem...- hugodrax

I wouldn't say kizami tabako is particularly strong. It's possible, and usual, to have several bowls. Frankly, I think it just suits the Japanese nature to have an ethereal experience.- hugodrax

Kizami is a very, very finely sliced Virginia. I've smoked it--it is light and airy. You sort of mound it into a little ball and put it into the tiny bowl of a kiseru. It is gone in two or three puffs.- hugodrax

Be stubborn. Pipestud knows what he's talking about: some pipes are good smokers very quickly. I don't dispute this and some people may not like the eait. But I've come to believe that almost all well-made pipes will become good smokers with perseverance. And before you think I'm asking the...
