If CH is your favourite, you own it to yourself to try Uhle's Blend 00. HH Burley Flake rocks but it is very different from CH, being more like wessex burley slices or solani ABF (all of which are smashing burley flakes) but not like carter hall.
I have a Perla Nera shape 55 that I have smoked regularly since 2014-5. The finish is still the shiny midnight black. It doesn't rub off the rim when you clean it with spit or water, etc. Very elegant finish.
CCW, one thing on which you can count is this: SP will have another Castello that will be perfect for you. Just wait and save, they serve up fresh Castellos regularly :puffy:
So true at least up here in Canada. Some of the most virulent anti-tobacco folks I know are otherwise very conservative. True, I can see them all over the place on the political map.
As Jesse indicates this is more about using policy to advance a big industry by trying to stagnate or kill its...
Beautiful npod! Here's a couple ... both are fantastic smokers!
This was my 25th anniversary gift from my wife --
And this one is from the mid-60s, a Fiammata that looks like a relative of your Oom Paul --
I love Doblone D`Oro but I'd like to try these new blends just to see what is what. I don't expect them to taste like the original 3N, and anyone who never smoked the original wouldn't know, so it is best just try them for their own merit or lack thereof whether you've smoked the original or...
The only thing I don't like about a cob is the 'seasoning' period. I enjoy smoking my cobs, usually when I am casting flies. So my association with smoking my cobs is very positive. As another poster remarked, I've gone to the effort to raise the bottom of my cobs with pipe mud so that they are...
Smoking my first bowl of Mac Baren HH Burley Flake in this new Castello Aristocratia shape 65. A sweet 25th Anniversary present from my better half! Tasting delicious so far ...
Hehe, woodsroad, you rock; thanks for the laugh :)
Btw, I don't recall a tobacco tin ever giving such a precise measure of its contents' mass. Most would label that quantity as 3,5 oz, not 3,53 oz.
Killer pipe there, fishnbanjo! Continue to enjoy the heck out of it. I, too, am trying to find ways to deal with the heat up here in BC -- 37 C and 40% humidity today. I bet your humidity is higher? All the best.
Thomas
I hope so, too!
There are a number of Peterson shapes to which I am attracted, but having experienced this twice and being now bullet shy, I am in 'wait and see' camp.
