    Seattle Trip Day 1

You mentioned visiting two retail tobacconists...care to divulge which two? I'm curious if if some decent ones have managed to elude my searches.

    Seattle Trip Day 1

If you want an excellent steak...try El Gaucho on First Ave (about a mile from the Grand Hyatt). IMO, they are much better than Ruth's Chris. If you are dining alone, however, you might feel a little out of place as the atmosphere is geared a bit more for couples. Alternately, the Pampas Room...

    On the Road Again ...

I should have told you to smuggle some tins of 'baccy in for me!

    Pretty yes... but...

Meh. Even if it were in my budget...it doesn't do anything for me.

    Seattle Pipe Shop?

I'm afraid you are going to find pipe shops lacking in Seattle. Washington State would be perfectly content to run out every tobacco user. Kirsten Pipe Co. is in Seattle. They have 2 locations (original store in Ballard - Map1 and a new store in downtown Seattle - Map2) I haven't been in the...

Outdoor smoking - briar care question

I agree with Uncle Arthur! Doesn't make any sense to allow your pipe to cool down further prior to lighting up. Nor does it make any sense to cool your pipe down below room temp for cleaning.

    PAD 2011

Thanks for all the compliments guys! It seems that the GBD is quite popular (and I must admit...it may turn out to be one of my favorites) :) @Tommy: Given the fact that the patent number is stamped on the shank, I am fairly certain that it was made shortly after Alfred Sasieni took over the...

    Savinelli--late xmas pt. II

Very nice indeed! I really like the gold accent ring between the shank and stem.

    New Mario Grandi Pipe!

One of the things I love about the Mario Grandi pipes is the way they are stained. The contrast really accentuates the grain beautifully. Very nice looking pipe!

    PAD 2011

Thanks guys! As requested...a view from the top of the Zulu. Taken with my iphone...so not the best pic. A bit more info on all of them. The GBD is (I think) pre-Comoy as it has a brass logo inlay on the stem. It was unsmoked (until tonight) and only needed minor cleanup of slight oxidation...

    PAD 2011

Long ago there was a thread for everyone to post pics of their latest PAD purchases (rather than the multiple threads that get started ever so frequently). I figured I would try to bring back the thread for 2011. Show us some pics of your latest PAD episodes. :D Here are my latest acquisitions...

Do I have a right to return pouches of pipe tobbaco to drug store if gone bad?

The pouch of SWR that I purchased a few days ago was dry as a bone as well. I just moistened a paper towel (wringing out excess water), poured the contents of the pouch onto said paper towel, folded the paper towel over the 'baccy and stuck it back in the pouch. A few hours later...removed...

    Newbie Question re: Tins

Every once in a while I screw the lid back on too tight and then go through the same process of grunting and twisting, feeling my first hernia starting to form, before I finally give up and grab my czech tool. Even then, they can still be a bit infuriating. Nothing better than bringing your...

Tried Sir Walter Raleigh for the first time yesterday afternoon. Not a bad OTC. Pipe was a 6 Panel Relief Grain Kaywoodie.

Foreign Land - Pipes in Brasil

Supposedly, there is a Davidoff store in Sao Paulo. Not sure if they carry pipes there or not...I couldn't find a website. This website, http://www.tabacarianacional.com.br/index.htm, I found with the help of google maps and babelfish translator. Looks promising!

    Slow Puff Cafe

While I will grant you that pics of PSU sorority girls would not be unwelcome (assuming they are pics of the pretty ones)...they would not have told you anything else about Collin (other than, perhaps, his choice in women). :D
