    Reverse Calabash Pipes

I bought the Chacom that shanez linked to a while back for around $60 from P&C. If you keep an eye on the sales they can be had for cheap. It's a great little smoker. I also have a Tsuge Drew Estate which could certainly be looked at like a RC. They don't smoke drier. It's just that the...

Thinking About Switching to a Safety Razor -Any Advice?

Yes and no. Different blades behave differently (profound, no?). Let's say you are used to a certain blade with an average level of sharpness, for lack of a better term. Let's say you are used to a Wilkinson blade (not their razor). If you use the same pressure and technique with a Feather...

Thinking About Switching to a Safety Razor -Any Advice?

I would say very light pressure. In my opinion, no pressure seems misleading.

Thinking About Switching to a Safety Razor -Any Advice?

Oh and has been mentioned the Wilkinson blades are a great start. I prefer Feather blades but they are damn sharp and require finesse. Also, when you load up your brush to make a lather, remember it is a lather not foam. If you can see bubbles keep working it with the brush. Think meringue...

Thinking About Switching to a Safety Razor -Any Advice?

I say go for it. I do have a Braun as well for quick touch ups but it doesn't achieve the same shave as any of my safety razors or straights. Probably doesn't need to be said here but sometimes the old ways are the best ways. I don't have any Merkurs so I can't comment on that directly. I...

The Universe Made Me Do It....

My only Chacom is a reverse Calabash. It is very light and a great smoker. I do not know your specific Chacom pipe but I do not think your pipe or the Plum Pudding will disappoint. :sher:

    I Saw That Pipe!

Every time I grab a pipe or a jar of tobacco my dog gets crazy. He climbs into my lap and stares at me because he knows that means we are going outside. Can’t hide the pipe in my pocket either; there’s no fooling his sniffer. Silly lovable bastard. Begs to go with then groans and growls at the...

    Canadian Pipe Shank Durability

Use graphite from a pencil. Take a pencil and coat/"color" the stem tenon until you see the silver all over. Does wonders for a tight stem without removing material.

    Penetrating Oil Finishes?

After going after the stain on a pipe with a variety of solvents and even soaking in everclear, I don't think an oil is going to penetrate much. Even soaking in everclear had almost no effect. It certainly did not seem the briar absorbed any of the solvents. I plan on trying some Danish oil.

Stocking Up On Favorite Scotch & Irish Whiskey?

Yes. I bought bottles of my favorites when the tariffs went through. So far, prices seem to have remained where they were. I guess I am at least spoiled for variety ?
