***What Are You Smoking, February 2023?***

One of my favorites from my recent estate lot wins today. I'm a big fan of leather wrapped pipes, and this Longchamp Opera is in great shape. Packed with Granger and smoking well.

    Old guy - New hobby

Welcome, from the Oregon coast. I'm a home brewer and craft beer aficionado as well, and also enjoy bourbon and single malt scotch.

On Smoking Slowly and the Benefits...

This is a great write up and good advice. I definitely started out smoking too fast, mostly due to foolishly fretting over keeping the pipe lit. Over time I've learned to stop worrying about relights and appreciate the value of smoking slowly. It really does improve the whole experience.

Love the ashtray and the wadcutter tamper.

    Cutty Madness. Match 4.

This one was easy. Number 2 gets my vote.

    Cutty Madness. Match 3.

This is another tough one. I'm going with #2 because I love the bamboo.

Yes, indeed. It's a pale ale.

    Inflation.

Yes, everything is up here on the Oregon coast as well. Fortunately I harvest much of our food so the impact on us is minimal. Eggs are about $3.50 a dozen here, but will assuredly continue to climb. I have friends with chickens and I can always barter for eggs as needed.

    Cancer Shrinking

A dramatic improvement. Very happy to know that your treatment is working.

OMG! An Unsmoked 1991 Dunhill for a Mere ........

Indeed. My wife has friends that love to spend exorbitant amounts on handbags and shoes. It's like a competition with them.

    Life of a Zippo Wick?

Make sure it is full of fluid as well. When they run low they can be tougher to light.

Brewing is done, but I decided to fire up another pipe and throw the ball for the dogs. Sutliff D40 Vanilla in another of my recent auction lot wins, a French made Algerian briar MasterCraft Legion of Honor squat bulldog.

OMG! An Unsmoked 1991 Dunhill for a Mere ........

It never ceases to amaze me the ridiculous prices people ask for all sorts of things on the web. I guess it's worth it for them if they can even get one fish to bite.

    Greetings from Coos Bay Oregon

Welcome, from just an hour up the Oregon coast. I hope you enjoy your future pipe smoking Endeavors! 😁

***What Are You Smoking, February 2023?***

Brewing again today, and smoking another of my new estate lot auction acquisitions. SV Black Cavendish in a Ropp Cherrywood. This pipe has a large chamber and smokes surprisingly well. I really like it.

    Pipe Screens?

I did this as well. I really like the waxed canvas.

***What Are You Smoking, February 2023?***

Just for decoration as far as I know. Interestingly, I have two other pipes from the same estate lot, all from different makers, that have similar holes across the rim. I'll be smoking those over the next week or so.
