What Music Are You Listening To? - January 2023

My favorite track from my favorite Styx album. Not as popular as many of their other songs, but I've always loved it.

    Finding tampers

I use a golf tee with my meers and I bought a bunch of Czech tools and nail type tamper tools on eBay for cheap. Having years of experience with magically disappearing drum keys, I knew that it was wise to keep many tampers around, because they will surely magically disappear as well.

    Finding tampers

I never thought of using a spent rifle casing. That's a great idea. I know what my next tamper will be now!

Am I Turning into a Codger?

Those definitely sound like codger tendencies. When you go out for a meal do you ask what the soup of the day is? If it's something you don't like, do you respond with, "Bah!"? Those are also codger tendencies. Living in a rural area I'm limited to yelling at birds, squirrels and other...

What Are You Drinking? January 2023

My wife has has this bottle of whipped cream flavored vodka taking up valuable liquor cabinet space for too long, so I decided to take action. I mixed up a screwdriver with it. Tastes like drinking an orange 50/50 ice cream bar.

***What Are You Smoking, January 2023?***

Could very well be a false positive test, which is common. Nothing wrong with some time off though either way.

What Are You Drinking? January 2023

Finishing off a bottle of tawny porto tonight. Not bad for $7.99 a bottle.

Still had some Captain Black in my Don Regular Canadian, so I topped it off and am enjoying a rare blue sky winter day here on the Oregon coast!

Going To Smoke & Enjoy The Pool Today!

The Green Mountain will hit 500, which was a big selling point for me. You can char a steak on it with ease. In contrast, my Traeger tops out at just over 400. Having owned both for a while now, I can say that the Green Mountain is superior in every way. Traeger has the name recognition, but...

    sopping wet tobacco

That seems a little cynical. ;) I never gave it much thought, but selling by weight certainly incentivizes increasing the moisture content. Even a slight increase would be significant.

    sopping wet tobacco

Same here. I live in a very humid environment and have no worries about excessive drying. I keep a couple of bulk aros in glass humidors for convenient accessibility and always keep a good amount of tobacco drying in a dish. I have to resort to drying on paper towels for some aros because they...

You might want to check out pellet smokers too. I love mine and use them regularly to smoke and grill.

Going To Smoke & Enjoy The Pool Today!

My Green Mountain pellet smoker has WiFi connectivity that allows me to monitor and control the temperature on my phone as well. It has the temperature probe too, which I agree is very nice to have. My Traeger, which I got for free, doesn't have any of that. It's a little larger though and...
