Medico VFQ- Saving an Old Pipe

I had forgotten shaintiques was Dave; I know who you mean now. I also searched out the thread and it's a very honorable, and seems quite successful, undertaking that I applaud.

Medico VFQ- Saving an Old Pipe

I think they started off as better quality but over time declined; they even make a Brylon VFQ. If you catch an older one they are more likely to be better quality; they range from pre-1965 to present day production. I'm not familiar with this - time to do some searches I reckon. :puffpipe:

Fills in Briar and Pipe Philosopy

For me it just depends: some fills, especially small ones, I don't really notice, but others drive me crazy. I think where it's located has a lot to do with this, for me; if I'm constantly staring aa the "wart" something has to be done.

Piper kindness even bleeds over to ebay!

I'm another one who's admired these but never have gotten around to getting one. I think the price on them is about to go up after this thread though! LOL

Medico VFQ- Saving an Old Pipe

Thanks, gents. I've only gotten to smoke it once so far but it seems promising! I, too, love the "old guys"- they have a character to them IMHO.

Medico VFQ- Saving an Old Pipe

I picked up this old pipe to experiment on, really. But it turned into a "Save This Old Pipe" restoration effort. It really came out quite well, despite some surprises along the way. And the experiments were of good, usable info for me, too. And best of all - it smokes really well! :puffy...

What's Your Opinion of MM Country Gentleman Tobacco by Russ?

I've not had it yet so I can't comment, though the series sounds intriguing to me. That's considered yelling, in case you aren't aware. Kevin asks that we try to use proper grammar and punctuation in our posts and thread titles; it's a mistake that we often make today it seems and I don't...

    Portable Pipe?

I got a eyeglasses case from the Dollar Tree (a soft one but there are also semi rigid and rigid ones available. I generally put a MM legend in that with a snack size zip bag of 15 or so grams of tobacco and my pipe tool and lighter. It works really well for me: not enough tobacco to really...

***What Are You Smoking *** (June 2014)

Solani 369 in a MM Legend. It's a different and kind of unique blend that I think may be growing on me.

    Pipe Makers Vice

Although I don't own this yet, a friend uses and recommends it highly: Dremel Vise. It is on my wish list, if anyone is interested! 8)

Mini Meerschaum: Good Take Along Pipe or Not?

Thanks, Jason; I was thinking they were a little "tougher". I am planning on using it on vacation, at outdoor functions/get togethers, things along those lines. And I'll likely carry it in my "belt bag" (man's fanny pack lol) along with my other tools: lighter, pipe tool, etc. Thanks, Brew...

Mini Meerschaum: Good Take Along Pipe or Not?

Thanks, Carl. They (kids) seem to do better and rebound faster than us (adults) really! LOL Both of those are nice meers; I really like the carved one!

Mini Meerschaum: Good Take Along Pipe or Not?

Thank you. He just came out of recovery about an hour ago. The doctor said it went well and that he should get to go home this afternoon or early evening.

Mini Meerschaum: Good Take Along Pipe or Not?

I think I have found a solution, a temporary one at least. I picked this up in a lot a while back and forgot about it. It's a Pioneer block meerschaum. Finished the resto yesterday, before I got called that my grandson broke his arm; he's 5. Been at the hospital pretty much since 6 pm and will...

Article on Intro to Wet Shaving

Great article and nice site! I just started back with a DE razor in February after a hiatus of probably 15 years. I think it is finally starting to come back to me. But one thing I do know is that I don't dread shaving anymore like I used to!

What? Another childish antic on the World Wide Web? Impossible! All kidding aside, I think they made a good call on that issue.

    Tamper Exchange 2014

Well, I mailed out mine today to Ed and bentmike's package arrived yesterday; I opened it today and was plesantly surprised with the contents; the photos don't do his work justice IMHO: (Mike's beautiful work is shown along side my new Father's Day pipe from my daughter :puffy: ) He also...
