    Do Bowls Breathe?

Some sweat from time to time but it's probably condensation from the cold air.

***What Are You Smoking, November 2020?***

Nothing else than Billy Budd, in a Savinelli Vesuvio 106.

    Anyone Play Video Games?

I've recently started to play Crusader Kings III. A lot of strategy needed, I'm already biting the stem. ?

Estate Pipe has Cracks / Fissures in Bowl - Is it Repairable or Should I Return It?

The mentioned shop is very optimistic about the condition of their pipes. I bought my first and last estate pipe from them. It would have been restored by them and given 4 stars but it was reamed too deep (probably to remove the burnt briar), draft hole enlarged significantly and then filled...

    Pipe Cleaners

I use them in combination with unscented toilet paper and never reuse them. I also chop the dirty part away and use every inch of them instead of throwing away after one swab. I buy the cheapest ones, big quantity - 5k pieces while on sale and after I don't want to think or talk about it. It's a...

Effects and Properties of Pipe Bowl Shape

I think the main advantage of thicker walls are lower temperatures. I have the same shape dedicated to straight Virginias which are easier to handle in chunky pipes than in those with thin walls.

    How Far is Too Far?

I'm not too impressed when there's only ash left because I know I also smoked a dottle. Fortunately the taste tells almost every smoke when it's past the limit of tasty and that's when I dump what's left.

Does Key Largo Taste Like An English Blend?

I just ordered this blend. I love Billy Budd and hope this won't be too smooth. I'm a noob in cigar world and was wondering what cigar leaf is used in BB and Key Largo. Trying to do a deeper research for different cigar leaves in pipe tobacco gave me an impression that it's either mystical or...

    Zippo

Pros: - reliable ignition - works in wind - looks cool Cons: - nasty smell - one refill lasts up to a week - gas evaporates if not in use I vote for Bic.

    Aromatics and Non-Aromatics

For online shopping tobaccoreviews works perfectly, I also quickly check reviews to be sure what I can expect from a tobacco. More challenging is buying in a tobacco shop or similar. Many sellers have no idea about tobaccos so I usually plan each visit and if they don't have exactly what I want...

How Dry? A Good Place To Start

When I open a tin I place all the tobacco on a sunny place and cover it with paper. Within few hours, sometimes even a day it's completely dry and works best for me. Fire cured blends (english mixtures, kentucky) and aromatics will loose some flavour so better smoke them fresh. All the other...

    Straight Deer Tongue Pipe Tobacco

Straight it can be a little harsh but blended carefully it really has a nice flavour. ? Sorry, I had to do it. ?

Is There Any Blend That You Wish Were a Woman So That You Could Make Love to It?

Bow-legged bear would fit this thread. I'm ok with just burning it.

    Clan

This is one of the tobaccos that I really couldn't smoke. I even put a pinch of perique in it, like one would put salt in a bad tasting food but no success. A weird flavour and almost shag cut require too much effort to squeeze a pleasant smoke out of it.

Any Recommendations for a Struggling Ciggy Smoker?

I started with pipe smoking to quit roll-ups too. The longest period without a cig was one year. I believe the main problem is not the nicotine but the nastiest highly addictive additives hidden in a rolling tobacco or cigarettes. When the addiction kicks in nothing helps, you have to stand...

    Unsmokable Samuel Gawith

I had a similar problem with Best Brown. I rubbed it out completely, separated every single leaf apart, dried it on the stove and jarred it so it couldn't rehydrate in the humid air. It still went out several times during the smoke so I concluded it just wasn't my type of tobacco. Luckily...

    $1000+ Pipes

It reminds me of an "elite" lady with luxurious clothes and extreme make-up while she was hurrying to a toilet. I really enjoyed knowing that she was going to take a dump. ?? The darker side of elitism, reminding that after all the money spent we are still humans and somehow equal, smoking cheap...

    $1000+ Pipes

The biggest amount I spent for a pipe was around 200$. I think talking about a superior briar which puts a price higher is often a lie these days. If spending thousands makes you happier and if you can afford it, why not.
