    Thank You, Community

Welcome to the forum! I do hope you'll stick around and get to know a few of the regular posters around here. Most here are very knowledgeable and genuinely interested in sharing their experiences and helping others with any pipe related issues. Their wit and humor can make the most grizzled...

    Sharing the Love?

I have a couple Biker friends I ride with who like cigars. I gave each one a Cob and a Savinelli seconds brier. I usually supply them with whatever I'm smoking. I do believe I'm slowly winning 1 over to pipes, but one has given up and isn't interested in pipes, and only smokes cigars now with...

    Clan Cob Unite!

I have a number of cobs i smoke on a regular basis. I prefer the MM Country Gentlemen, and take one regularly when I go trekking around outdoors in the woods or on my Harley.

What Price Range Do You Stay Within When Buying Tobacco?

I buy 3 or 4 tins a month from my B&M here locally to help keep them in business, and I order some bulk blends from the internet from a few different places. I keep my eyes open for sales and deals too...and watch out for timely releases from Watch City Cigars, L.J. Peretti, Iwan Ries, and The...

Pipe Smoking: Should I be Concerned in Public ?

I think there are a lot of variables to the OP question. To me, the most important questions to ask are, how close they are to where I smoke my pipe, and what kind of relationship I have with my neighbors. As was stated earlier, respect is a two way street, and that would play greatly into my...

When Forced to Choose Only 4...

If I was going somewhere that restricted tobacco, and I couldn't check out the local blends, this morning I'd take; G.L. Pease "Fillmore" Savinelli "Janus" L.J. Peretti "Royal" Watch City Cigars "Old Dominion" Now, ask me again tomorrow and I'll have 4 totally different choices, plus...

I Finally Tried Some Lane 1Q.

I'm not generally fond of aromatics, but I'll have to get some 1Q to try it out since I haven't tried any for years. I have some McClellan Cherry something jarred, and maybe some other aromatic, but that's about all I have on hand. In my opinion, most aromatics are just ok, and I have always...

    Filter Or No Filter?

I don't usually use a filter in my pipes that accept them, but when I do use one I use the balsa wood. I put the balsa in the pipe and take it out after the pipe has pretty much cooled down. I then can clean the pipe and run a pipe cleaner through it. I let the filter dry and evaporate the...

    Soulless Tobacco Containers.

I definitely think the warning labels are BS Government intervention. If you haven't heard/seen the warnings by now, you're living under a rock anyway!

    Small is Beautiful ?

I don't care for the "Nose Warmer" pipes, but I do have a few smaller pipes I use when I'm trying out a new blend, or enjoying something that has a higher Nicotine hit than I usually smoke. The small pipes I did buy, were bought because they appealed to me for some reason, not necessarily for...

As a Perique Lover, I Wish I Still Drank!

Sorry to those who are longing to try it, but I don't think I'm missing much...I'll just stick to smoking my perique :sher:

    Rim Charring

Try to always use a "soft flame" lighter, or a stick match. Avoid using a "Torch" lighter. Other than that, I believe all the previous posts have been outstanding recommendations!

    Lots Of Open Tins

I have probably, 75+ jars, from 1/2 Pint, which will hold 2 oz of Tobaccy, to 1 gallon jars, which will hold 1.25 lb. of tobaccy....all depending on the cut of the blend. I do have them labeled pretty good so I know what they are, but there are a few "unknowns." Maybe I'll get it straightened...

    Selling Valuable Cellared Tobacco

The blends i have bought and stashed in my cellar were bought for me to enjoy with my pipe smoking friends that I may have. I feel I'd be depriving myself, if I sold them simply for money. Trading for something else though, is a different matter. If my tastes change, which I doubt they will, I...
