    Rattray's 1990's?

I believe that Arango became the US distributor for Rattray's in 2010 or so, so it's likely these tins are newer than that. As to your question of when to open, I wouldn't concern myself too much with finding the "right time" for the blend to be it's "best." Blends change over time. Many...

Simply Red and Rhythm and Blues

I picked up some Rouxgaroux a couple of weeks ago and I've since smoked 2-3 bowls. I like it a lot! It will likely end up in my top 5 VaPers list.

Simply Red and Rhythm and Blues

Me too! I've thoroughly enjoyed every related blend (Simply Red is my favorite ribbon-cut straight Va) so I'm looking forward to trying R and B.

Simply Red and Rhythm and Blues

Last spring Simply Red lasted 3 days before it sold out. Given what happened with Roux and Simply Voriental the last couple of weeks, I'd guess it won't last nearly that long this time around.

    Bangkok Sunset

Enjoying the relaxation of a pipe while watching the sunset is one of the great simple pleasures of life. Great pictures!

***What Are You Smoking, November 2020?***

Enjoying a bowl of Watch City Cigar Simply VOriental in a MM General. Really liking this blend and it's approach to the VaOr genre.

Jim's Watch City Simply VOriental Review.

Well, I've had four bowls of this in the past three days, and I have to say I think it's very very good. There is definitely a pre-dominant sweet red Va flavor upon first light, but the Macedonian makes it's presence known shortly thereafter and adds a lot of additional complexity to what was...

    Favorite Movie Quotes/Lines ?

"Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the war room!" ---From Dr. Strangelove Pretty much the entire script from "Airplane!" And I'll throw my wife's favorite in here: "There's a shortage of perfect breasts in the world, it would be a pity to damage yours." ---From The Princess Bride

Jim's Watch City Simply VOriental Review.

I think that over time (I believe he has said it took him decades to develop his palate to this level) he has developed the ability to isolate the flavors of different constituent tobaccos in a blend, and he is further able to isolate the particular flavors that each individual constituent...

    Early Tuesday Morning Pipe

What a beauty! Good on you for taking them in and especially for taking the proper actions to make sure these monsters don't do that again. In my book, people who abuse animals are in the same category as people who abuse children, and they sadly tend to get away with it much of the time...

***What Are You Smoking, November 2020?***

Currently enjoying a bowl of Cornell and Diehl XX Flake in a Sasieni Two Dot 1/8 bent billiard. This is the first tobacco I cellared after purchasing a couple of tins, and I'm glad I did. It's not quite like any other VaPer or VaOr I've tried, and it's aging quite well!

Are You A (Bourbon/Scotch) Sipper Or A Gulper?

Definitely a sipper, but I only buy Bourbon/Scotch/Rye that is worth sipping. At the bar, it's beer or cocktails, if it's a bar that knows how to make them. I've gulped down a few shots in my day, but that was only back in the day when the purpose of the visit was the effect of the drug. In...

    Smoke A Bowl For Wilson

So sorry to hear this. Dogs are amazing creatures, and truly family members. I still grieve for both of the dogs my wife and I have lost, the most recent being Ciera the sheltie, who died in 2016 and was my special girl. Thinking of you in this difficult time.

    Best Cherry Blends

Ken Byron was selling it in 50 gr bags a while back, which is where I managed to score some. I’ll definitely be looking for it whenever there is another GHCo drop(whenever that is! I think the last drop was in January so we should be due soon).

    Best Cherry Blends

+4 for Cult Blood Red Moon Also, KBV Sakura, which is more cherry blossom than pure cherry, but still excellent. If you like a little Lakeland with your cherry and you can find it, Gawith Cherry Vanilla Flake is excellent. Probably my favorite cherry blend out there.

    Almost Like Hitting the Lottery

Well, we're about 22 years too late for that. I grew up in North Portland, lived all my life in the same house right off of Portland Blvd (now Rosa Parks Way). But I left to go to college when I turned 18, met a woman from Massachusetts, and the rest is history. Still love that area though...
