    Cigar Cutting, A Discussion.

Regular cut only. Hate punches. V cut annoys me. 50% because of the reasons listed above, 50% because I have an illogical inability to smoke a cigar any other way. Call it a comfort/tradition thing.

    Best Blend Release of 2020?

Great suggestion! I wish I picked more of that up. Probably the most bold Va/Per/Or (probably more of a Or/Va/Per) that I've personally had.

    Best Blend Release of 2020?

I wanted to do the cliché "Shhh", but I'm just happy others have noticed. These are the best C&D blends and by far the most underrated IMO. King Stride is truly unique, and as a Va/Per/Or fan, the red hunt was made for me. I think both will be incredible as age works its magic. Other 2020...

    Thoughts on C&D Burley Flake #2 ?

I'm a #1 fan, I have topping/casing-sensing superpowers, and sometimes I need something strong but not flavored or sauced up. I'd put the Burley Flake #1 in the same minimally-processed category as various D&R and Semois. For that reason, and because when that Dark Burley hits right its...

Aromatic-Like Prop-Glycol/Humectant Detection In Match Victorian

It absolutely exists. When I got my first 2oz sample during a steep P&C discount, I really liked it. Until I tasted the same thing - it's a subtly sugar sweet, very very slight chemical perfumy taste, and had that sticky PG feel to it. Fast forward a year later and I popped back into that 2oz...

Where and What Have You Been Smoking?

I've been taking a daily break at work mid-day to hide out and have a bowl in the company car. Been giving Bob's Chocolate Flake a solid effort, mixing in the usual bowls of SG Sam's Flake in a beautiful no name pot with a variety of all grain types. Popped open a small jar of Match Elizabethan...

    Apertif

I'm not gonna lie I've never tied it, I bought a tin a ways back just because I love the tin art.... I am looking forward to opening it one day.

    Match Burely Blends?

I also agree that all the ones I've tried are definitely aromatics. I can concur with the previous posters' assessment of match field and stream. The anise/licorice wasn't for me, but the underlying tobacco was decent. I let the topping evaporate off and added perique, more my style.

    Pipe Smoking in Bars/Restaurants

    How Thick is Pipe Smoke?

I'll try to answer as scientifically as I can: Thic, but not thicc.

Perique and The Souring of a Pipe

I've said this before, but: Yes I definitely notice a Perique ghost. Like other ghosts I don't mind, but it's there for sure. IMO of course.

    One of My Other Addictions..

Great thread. I've shot archery all my life. Previous bows include a Martin, a Hoyt Medalist, amongst others. My current bow is a Hoyt Alphaburner at 62# (50-60# model with spiral cams).

    Bahn Mi

Love my time in Vietnam, loved Banh Mi in Saigon, and even though it's not the same, I love American Vietnamese food too. In the Bay Area I'll recommend the chain of restaurants called "Lee's" or "Pho Play" in Castro Valley. Neither are cheap or wholly authentic but both are very tasty.

    Habano No?

I have done this returning to the US from flights coming from China, Mexico, and Spain, with Customs finding my stash and confirming the same. The customs agent said "Cubans, nice choice!" and wished me on my way. It's also on the customs website.

    New Member Concord, CA

@Amnaresti Red Welcome! I'm planning on creating a Cigar and Pipe club with a monthly meet up in Walnut Creek (assuming this split with the ex means I keep my home in the area). It'll be a while until COVID things allow that, but keep an eye out and I'll try to remember I posted here...

    Why Cigars in Summer

It's just about craving. I tend to not have any desire to smoke Latakia unless it's cold, and I tend to smoke cigars only when it's sunny and hot. Not a rule but a very loose preference.

    Square Tins And Budget Mylar

After learning of the instances of square tins losing their seal I thought to remedy the situation by packaging my tins in Mylar. Previously I've bought the brand "Pleasant Grove Farms" and have been very pleased with the thickness and quality of their Mylar products. However I saw a 100 pack...

    Habano No?

This is what it's really about. Talk to Cuban Ex-pats, there's divide between them and their former countrymen which keeps the Embargo alive. A real damn shame too.
