***What Are You Smoking, October 2021?***

I'm happy that you are smoking that pipe - I've loved it since it popped up on the Altinay website!

***What Are You Smoking, October 2021?***

First go with C&D Engine #382. My first blend with Deertongue as well. Outstanding. In a French Jima pipe (clay bowl)

***What Are You Smoking, October 2021?***

I'd guess, based upon what I've seen on ebay, read, and chats I've had with other pipe smokers, that the SF pipe and tobacconist shops commonly utilized Comoy's to order/make their shop stamped pipes from around the late 'teens to at least the early 40's. Who knows, maybe they had several...

***What Are You Smoking, October 2021?***

    Dating a Kaywoodie

This, plus let the water soak into the meerschaum for about 20 minutes before you hit it with the grit. Meerschaum gets softer, which can allow you to go REAL light and even.

Granger And Half&Half Now In 7oz Cans

PSA: The inner foil seal on my 7oz can of Granger was not sealed fully. I could easily squeeze air out of the can which would leak through visible voids in the sides of the seal. As a result, I wouldn't recommend counting on storing any of the new 7oz cans for long term.

Granger And Half&Half Now In 7oz Cans

Yeah it's weird some of the OTC blends ate going big-tub-only, while STC obviously sees there is a reason to offer a smaller can/tub.

    Warped Scarecrow

In the end, I like Eight State Burley (and C&Ds burley leaf in general) , and I like red VA, so much - I knew I'd regret not getting any. So, 10 tins for me. I'm very optimistic.

2021 vs 2020 HH Rustica Flake

While I don't pretend to know the answer to your question, if it doesn't end up answered, it'd be a safe bet to say that MacBaren hasn't changed it. They are very, very consistent in a remarkable way, and like you've said, it's been a continually produced blend.

Why Do You Have To Tease Us?

I'm a big fan of alot of the variations or similarities to the pickaxe shape, so I'm right there with you.

    Neerup 2021 Harvest Moon Pipes

Neerup makes good stuff. I have two of their pipes and can't knock them for any logical reason other than preference. Definitely bigger chambers. Whatever they use for the bowl coating works well. Decent drilling (I always modify the stems and open them up). One of the reasons I dig their...

    Best Bulk Englishes

Yeah that's about as close to an objective answer, for a pipe tobacco question, as the topic of pipe tobacco gets. Definitely one of (in my opinion it is) the best bulk English/Balkan blends.

    GL Pease's Heeschen pipes

    Candy Corn Anyone?

The claim is that there is no added flavoring. Comprised of Two red VAs (one being the red VA Cavendish used in autumn evening), a white burley varietal, and a dark burley varietal.

    Push Stem Kaywoodie

Pipes marked handmade are Kaywoodies up-market oversized pipes. The above photo is from a 1947 Kaywoodie Catalog. I'd guess yours is 50's to 60's, but I'm no expert and my guess is based upon what I can read on the internet. Smokingpipes has sold similar pipes as estates:

Granger And Half&Half Now In 7oz Cans

Just an FYI. Similar price per ounce alot of places as the bigger tins. I've always wanted to try Granger but shied away at the price of a whole big tub, so I bought a 7oz tin recently. Options are good. Searched for any similar threads and didn't find any.
