Cellaring C&D Small Batch Carolina Red Flake With Perique Sep' 2021.

The original Red Flake, which they tinned and sold until 2019, was awesome right away, but the leaf was from 2015 so it had some age. I'm assuming this last release would be fine to smoke right now as well, even though it has less age and a lower sugar content.

    Getting Ready for Fall.

I totally understand. Women love Fall and it's a trend right now for young women to raid stores like Home Goods looking for Fall decor, because stores are already putting out their Fall items. Where I live the hottest months are August and September and it is full blown summer, so it is very...

The Sweetest Virginia (Flake) You've Had?

Many here would gladly ship you tobacco, and I’m sure many here having trading partners in other countries and they exchange hard-to-find blends across the pond. Unless you have tobacco sniffing dogs like they do in Australia you would be fine.

Do You Like Latakia in the Winter and Virginia in the Summer? G.L. Pease Discusses for Aug 22 Column

I actually really like Latakia in the summer. It reminds me of barbecues and campfire.

What Is This on the Inside of My Tin?

No off odors. Just a strange, white powdery looking substance that is hard. Here is a closer photo.

What Is This on the Inside of My Tin?

Just curious what this is, and if I should just go on smoking it. I compared it to other tins (including tins from the same brand) and did not see anything similar.

    McClelland Perique vs Other Perique

Thank you. Some good info here, and it answers my underlying question: Whether McClelland processed their perique differently.

    McClelland Perique vs Other Perique

I asked you in a PM but you said you’re not a fan of Perique. I’ll offer you what I get it for: $12 an ounce.

    McClelland Perique vs Other Perique

Is there any discernible difference between McClelland Perique and other Perique on the market? Is it worth seeking out McClelland Perique? Perhaps there was a special process, but I have no idea.

    A Dunhill Treasure?

Good price. I recall stores here in California are selling (or were selling) the Dunhill marked tins for around $40. Like others have said, the Peterson tins are exactly the same. But some people like having Dunhill on the label because it looks cooler, and they have some age.

    A Dunhill Treasure?

The tin is from 2017 or earlier. That was the last year it said Dunhill on the label. Cool find. I would love to visit Israel some day.

The Official 2022 Stanley Cup Playoff Thread

They don’t want to slow the game down. That’s the NHL’s reason. After that late major call in Game 7 between the Golden Knights and Sharks in 2019 (#notamajor) the NHL seriously considered whether they wanted to allow video review for major penalty calls. They were worried that reviewing every...

The Official 2022 Stanley Cup Playoff Thread

I agree. The officiating has been terrible this series and has really slowed down the game.

The Official 2022 Stanley Cup Playoff Thread

The politicization of sports in the last few years is very dismaying, I agree. But the refs letting the boys play is the best part of hockey. (I was super disappointed the league called for heavy enforcement of cross checking this season. That’s one of the best parts of the game.) This playoff...
