Anyone Have Thoughts on Christian Ruetz Pipes

Has anyone had any experience with Austrian pipe maker Christian Ruetz? I am not looking to buy one right now, but I saw his pipes and started wondering if they smoke well, since I have never heard of them. Cheers

    Three New New Peterson’s

Castello already did last year. I believe it was called “The Virus.”

    Peterson Carroll Of Carrollton Pipes.

I bought one in natural, but now I’m thinking I shouldn’t have spent the money. If anyone wants it just message me and pay me what I paid for it (I can provide proof of receipt).

Maine Moving to Ban Sale of Flavored Tobacco

So many kids smoking Blood Red Moon it’s a tragedy.

And We're Glad (x3) to Have Arrived.

Hiking from Humber Park to Saddle Junction is probably the best hike. Ernie Maxwell is a nice, fairly flat trail that gives you nice views if you’re not in the mood for a more strenuous hike. I’m glad the story could transport you there. My wife actually took some photos of that moment. Here’s...

And We're Glad (x3) to Have Arrived.

My younger brother got me interested in pipe smoking around 2017. He was 16 years old and couldn’t even buy tobacco yet, but he was researching and anticipating the moment he could. I was intrigued by the names of the tobacco, such as Haunted Bookshop, Founding Fathers, and Frog Morton. In...

McClelland Blends at SP. VIP Exclusive.

Wow. Pipes and Cigars sends out catalogs to everyone and their mothers but they cancel orders without even having someone reach out. I guess it’s too expensive to hire a phone operator. I’ve called Iwan Ries before and the guy on the phone was super friendly.

    First Howell

Very nice pipe. I’m in a tobacco buying season at the moment, but you’re making me want to buy another Howell.

    Summer Suggestions

Oh man. Summer is my favorite time for pipe smoking. I actually like English blends in the colder months and the summer, but I find they fit the summer better with the woody, barbecue-type, incense qualities. Nightcap, Early Morning Pipe, Plum Pudding (the Bourbon Barrel version might fit...

I recently bought some Anniversary so I passed it over, but looking back I should have bought a couple of the Christmas Cheers with almost 20 years of age. I’ve heard great things about their Grand Orientals series, so I wanted to try a couple of those.

I am wondering how they got 2003 Christmas Cheer in a return.

McClelland Blends at SP. VIP Exclusive.

I believe it was $50, as were all other English blends that were 50g, except for FMC and Syrian blends.

That’s super cool they did that. I didn’t know about that, but I will say that I’ve had good experiences with Iwan Ries. I should have taken a screenshot to show the prices, because I was on my phone when the notification banner popped up, and I’m pretty sure I saw everything before anything...

McClelland Blends at SP. VIP Exclusive.

A tad higher than the secondary market. Where as I saw Anniversary sell very recently on two different occasions for $85, they were asking $100. Where as Pipestud sells Christmas Cheer for $70-$85, they were selling it for $100. Etc. However, their aromatics were all $30, which is what I see on...

Smokingpipes - Vintage McClelland Tins Restock | VIP Exclusive

Prices are fair for a retailer, and a cool experience to be able to buy McClelland from Smoking Pipes. I grabbed Classic Samsun, Drama Reserve, and a tin of Master Penman for the experience. I missed out on McClelland since I started smoking a pipe in April 2018.

How Do You Clean Pipes with Small Bores?

Interesting history. Thanks for the info!

How Do You Clean Pipes with Small Bores?

Well, I just got one of those GBD seconds from Iwan Ries and it has a tiny bore. The draw seems unrestricted, and would otherwise be a good pipe. Even my 1915 Barling Motor has a regular sized bore that will pass my pipe cleaners.

How Do You Clean Pipes with Small Bores?

Excellent. Do they wick away moisture and/or clean well? I’ve noticed in my experience regular sized pipe cleaners come out clean, but tapered (wider) pipe cleaners come out with all the grime. So they seem to clean better. Do these little ones do the trick?

GBD Seconds on Sale at Iwan Ries, $30 or Less for 2 or 3

Got mine. Two fills (yes, it says they have fills but these are ugly) and I can’t even fit a pipe cleaner into the stem. Pass on them. If anyone wants mine I’ll sell it for around the same price I bought it.
