I live in Arizona where it’s currently getting to 117f during the day. I don’t smoke everyday and I only smoke outside. I’m looking for suggestions for good tobacco for hot weather.
the issue I’ve had is I like the sourness of lane golden cavendish, but don’t like how the sourness comes and goes as you smoke it. It definitely takes turns. I don’t know if it’s the cavendish or burley in it, but I seem to not like other burley tins I’ve tried, so I’m guessing that’s what I don’t like. Something leaves a leather like flavor in my mouth and it just doesn’t do it for me.
i know I like English blends and aromatics.
Any suggestions on hot weather tobacco? I’m open to everything, I just tried to give whatever info I could on the one thing I’ve found I don’t like

Oh man. Summer is my favorite time for pipe smoking.

I actually like English blends in the colder months and the summer, but I find they fit the summer better with the woody, barbecue-type, incense qualities.

Nightcap, Early Morning Pipe, Plum Pudding (the Bourbon Barrel version might fit summer even better). I like McClelland AM Pipe in the summer too, but you might have trouble finding it.

I lean towards "cool latakia" smokes in the summer time, which usually means latakia-leaning Balkans - GLP Quiet Nights is a great readily available option - also, SG Balkan Flake my all time favorite, it is actually "deliciously cool" as advertised.

How can you possibly smoke in an oven? No blend is going to smoke it's best in microwaves. Shouldn't you be frying eggs on the sidewalks? I feel real bad you have to deal with that kind of heat. I would tell you whoever is the boss in your family that if you die with a pipe in your hand, it is her fault.

It’s gets down to like 100 by 10pm. It’s not so bad after the sun goes away

My maternal grandfather lived out in the Palm Springs area, so between that and my upbringing in the San Fernando Valley, I'm well acquainted with the fact that anything over 85 F absolutely sucks sweaty fuzzy wildebeest nads. That said, @chasingembers is spot on, and that's all you really need to know on the subject. Yeah, some people like latakia in the summer, VAs in the winter. I'm the precise opposite! I like English blends and burleys in the winter, VAs in the summer, and I tend toward VA/burleys, VaPers and aromatics in the spring and fall. But it's not a strict code of conduct or anything! Just smoke what suits you whenever the hell you please. I think I may have just inadvertently paraphrased a Bukowski quote, but you get my drift.

My favorite ambient artist (Steve Roach) has lived in AZ for 30+ years, and this has profoundly influenced his compositions. I guess creating music every day in an air-conditioned studio is a step above trying to smoke a pipe in triple digits! ?
