My First Tobacco Review... Country Squire 50th Anniversary Tin

I haven't smoked that blend but nice review. Keep at it.

    Lakeland Tobacco

I was put off for years by the Granny's perfume, dryer sheet, rose garden descriptions. Actually having recently tried them, their quite good. I never knew what I was missing.

    Cringle Flake ‘23

I have enjoyed the Katerini that I have tasted in blends like Anomalous but it's not something that I am in love with. I may pick up a tin or two of this year's Cringle Flake just out of sentimentality, or I may not. I stocked up on the previous iterations and should be good for some time. I do...

    Dry Smoking Tobacco-Forward Aromatics?

Bob's Chocolate Flake, University Flake, MacBaren Vanilla Roll Cake, Warped Scarecrow (unavailable currently). I don't smoke aromatics often but these are some I do enjoy.

    Give them some.

Best Place to Find Estates? Especially a Boswell.

I completely understand that. Their not giving them away. They've become quite expensive, at least to me. I will say that all of my Boswell pipes (4) are excellent smokers with perfect drilling. Some love them, others do not appreciate their aesthetic, but count me in the first group. For me...

Best Place to Find Estates? Especially a Boswell.

Occasionally you will find one on ebay but many times the asking price is more than their worth. As you mentioned, Smoking Pipes will list one occasionally. Another option, if you don't mind a new one, is to be on their website with CC in hand on Monday evenings. You have to be quick because...

    Flake Tobacco (PS Navy Flake)

I would. Many times drying your tobacco will improve the flavor. I don't want to dry my tobacco to the point that it is one step away from dust, but I do like my tobacco very dry. Why not give it a try and see what happens? Dry your tobacco more, pack a bit more loosely, and smoke a bit...

    Peterson University Flake review

I don't get much raisin but I'm also not getting quite the flavors that are referenced in the posted review, lol.

    Peterson University Flake review

Sorry guys. I get the joke now. I didn't see it at first. Now I'm laughing too.

    How's Your Day Going?

I was going to say the same thing. You may need some down time with a pipe and some good tobacco. Hang in there, I'm glad your son is safe.

    Peterson University Flake review

It may depend on how developed one's palate is in perceiving these flavors. One of the reasons I enjoy UF is that I do get a slight sweetness throughout the smoke. I too attribute it to the Virginia contained in the blend. Again, how we perceive tastes is subjective.

    Peterson University Flake review

University Flake is one of my favorite tobaccos and I smoke a fair amount of it. Keep in mind that taste is subjective so what I detect may not be how you perceive it. To me, the tin note has a note of blueberry or plum. This berry taste continues throughout the bowl, but never overpowers or...

    Question for Jim

Why your quite welcome! I'm glad you found it useful.

    Question for Jim

To echo HawkeyLinus, I've learned over time through reading Jim's reviews how his tastes relate to mine. As such, I find his reviews useful in that through his descriptions, I can almost determine whether or not I will like something. While this is not always the case, it is pretty accurate most...

    You pretty much nailed it!

    Are You Country or City?

I grew up in the country on a working farm which I inherited. I love the country and the peace and serenity it provides. If I never saw another city I would be as happy as a pig in sh*t.

WOW: 34 Hotdogs Would Feed Me For a Fortnight.

Cool Hand Luke once ate 50 eggs in an hours time. He looked pretty uncomfortable afterwards.

    Let’s Talk Zippo’s…

Replenish fuel when it will no longer create flame. For me, this is every 2-3 days.
