Best Way To Humidify Pipe Tobacco?

I had a few tins open for too long, and the tobacco contained therein is now too dry. What is the best way to reintroduce the right amount of moisture? Mason jars with small humidifiers perhaps?

How many blends in your rotation?

I have about 11 blends in zip-locks (a few with small humidifiers for blends that sat too long in open tins), 4 in jars, and 4 in tins. My wife is going nuts.

How many blends in your rotation?

Curious as to how many open tins or active pouches/jars you have going at any given time. My current lineup is getting a bit unruly, mostly because of (1) TAD and (2) becoming disinterested in certain blends and transferring them to pouches or jars until I'm ready for them again.

Questions about John Patton's 'Storm Front'

Looks like this will be included in my next big order. I always keep a fair amount of high quality OTC burley on hand. I love uhle's, and can't recommend their blends highly enough, but I don't think I've ever seen a burley blend praised more highly than this. Can't wait to try it! Thanks...

Questions about John Patton's 'Storm Front'

I've become a huge fan of American-style burelys, especially the high-quality versions of OTC blends. I've tried many of Uhle's burleys, as well as PS Cube Cut and Sterling's Double Eagle. Does Storm Front fit within this genre? And how is the room note on this one? I'm anxious to try this...

Smoking SG FVF for the first time...

If I can exercise some patience, I'll certainly let it age (it's in a mason jar now). I have Luxury Twist, Irish Flake, HOTW, and plenty of Burley blends to keep me occupied.

Smoking SG FVF for the first time...

...and all I can think of is "steak"! I can see why people hoard FVF. It's one of the smoothest and creamiest tobaccos I've smoked. I'm not sure the meaty taste is my favorite, as I'm much more partial to mellower, milder flavors. I actually found myself missing BBF (just finished a tin the...

Why do old-time burleys taste so good in cobs?

I'm willing to bet he'll throw in some Sweet Briar. Wonderful stuff. I smoke aromatics much less than I used to, but this is a great one.

Why do old-time burleys taste so good in cobs?

Makes sense, Jud. Sounds interesting. Feel free to PM me any info.

Why do old-time burleys taste so good in cobs?

I'm smoking my new favorite tobacco--Sterling's "Double Eagle"--in a cheap Missouri Meerschaum cob. The flavor is more pronounced than in any of my more elegant briars. Why is this? And are there styles of briar pipes that produce cob-like effects?

    Help with SG's BBF?

I enjoy how rounded and smooth this tobacco is. Indeed, this flake has the least amount of bite I've experienced with any Virgina. Yet what I've smoked so far is quite bland. There seems to be a (very) subtle sweetness that, while faint, is trying to escape. Would some drying liven things up...

Brief comparison of PS luxury (VA) blends?

Thanks. Anxious to try them all.

Brief comparison of PS luxury (VA) blends?

I have the luxury twist, which I absolutely love. The Cavendish pressed Virgina provides a nice sweetness without the unbearable residue of some aros. How do the flavor profiles of both LNF and BF compare to this? Specifically, how pronounced is the perique in the LNF (I'm not crazy about...

What bacci were you guys talking about?

I suspect bargain blend ingredients change pretty regularly. I'm smoking a bowl right now. The quality of the tobacco is excellent. Very smooth, creamy even. Absoutely no bite. I think this is a burley based cavendish with some (perhaps very little) Virginia. It is also lightly aromatic but...

I was able to snag some FVF this time. Never tried it!

What is your current "go to" or "everyday" smoke?

I'm hooked on PS's Luxury Twist. A good, lightly flavored Virginia that neither bites nor coats the tongue with unwanted flavors. It's cheap, too. File it under "best bang for your buck." My new "go to" smoke. :puffpipe:

Yep. Got some bargain blend myself, and I have yet to try it.

    C&D's '456: Winchester'?

I'm interested in trying various Virginias with unflavored Cavendish, and this blend description got my attention. Has anyone tried it?
