Climate Change and Its Impact on Tobacco Quality

Precisely. No one is arguing that the Earth’s Climate isn’t Changing. Of course it’s changing. It’s been changing in cycles for billions of years and it will continue to do so. No one is against curtailing man’s ugly, ever growing footprint on our environment. I personally think...

Climate Change and Its Impact on Tobacco Quality

What’s Shifted is terminology. Remember the term Global Warming? It’s inaccurate so the new cry is Climate Change. It used to be called Weather. Pino Noir. A difficult varietal. France: 78,090 acres (31,602 hectares) USA: 56,829 acres (22,998 hectares) Germany: 27,636 acres (11,184...

Climate Change and Its Impact on Tobacco Quality

Weather… Yes. It changes. A wine producing region should know this best, maintaining centuries of records. But to suggest that entire regions will soon have to stop growing a particular crop and begin growing it elsewhere… is a bit of a stretch. IBTL We are on a planet hurtling through...

Tobacco pouches/ leather bags why do they exist?

In centuries past, they existed by necessity, before plastic zip lock sammich bags were invented.

    Why Buy Tins?

My apology. I misread your first post.

    Why Buy Tins?

So, C&D doesn’t take pride? A Proud North Carolina Business.

    Why Buy Tins?

Do they? Square tins fail more often than round but those seals aren’t as reliable as a Mason Jar. I’ve also opened tins with rust rings beneath the paper insert.

    Why Buy Tins?

2 ounce Tin = $12 16 ounce bulk = $40 Buying 8 tins at $12 to obtain its equivalent 16 ounces will cost $96 I’m referring to current C&D pricing. Believe me. It’s the same product. Many enjoy variety and Tins are a convenience. But just as in a Convenience Store, you’ll pay a premium for...

    Why Buy Tins?

C&D Tins are cardboard with a plastic lid and I’ve found no difference in quality tin vs bulk.

    BBB pipes

I have 7 BBB pipes and love them all. I personally like the straight Billiard over the nose warmer. But as another had posted, I was looking for the characteristic BBB inlay on the stems?

    The Smoking Shed

Know what a Divorce and a Hurricane have in common in certain parts of the Southern United States? In either case… Someone’s going to lose their Trailer.

    The Smoking Shed

What about a glassed or clear plexiglass green house? Provides a view that’s less claustrophobic and is self heating with sunlight.

    The Smoking Shed

I love this thread. I like the recliner idea but it will invite pests. Too many hiding places for rodents and spiders. I smoke in my garage and love it. I have a comfy office chair and an ottoman of sorts to keep my feet on. Also have a small coffee table and I use the surface of a small...

    Making Bowl Last Longer

Agree. And to add to this.. No need to scrape the sides in an effort to keep a level ash surface. Just press on the center when tamping - addressing only the ember. The sides may be a bit higher than the center but will soon crumble and catch.

    A Jarring Question.

I’ve found that I can get One Pound into a 64 Ounce Mason Jar without much difficulty. But it is definitely packed tightly. My feeling is that packed tightly means less oxygen. In other words, it may preserve it longer. Someone can chime in on this.

    Weird Thought?

Leave your pipes to the Forum, care of @cosmicfolklore. He’s our resident Keith Richards and can distribute them fairly to members. Hate to know that many pipes will end up in dumpsters.
