Struggling Coming Back after a Hiatus

There are 3 parts to this tool. Most ignore this obvious remedy. Gently push straight to the bottom and smoothly withdraw the tool. It’ll create airflow. You’re Welcome.

Struggling Coming Back after a Hiatus

These “First World Problems” are a real kick in the pants.

    Pipes and Ham radio

ARMY AN-GRC 103 - Where it all began…. My station today… I’m fascinated with small Magnetic Loop Antennas. I have a pair of FT-891’s that I feel are phenomenal CW rigs; whomever designed this radio did so with Morse Operation in mind. I program the rigs identically. One is my Field Rig. The...

    Birmingham Alabama Visit

It’s sad that tobacconist shops are so few. That looks fantastic.

I’m not fond of the species.

    Pegasus: Love for One Blend

The pipe is an unmarked basket I’ve had forever. If I had to guess, it could very well be a Savinelli 111…. Wife stayed home from work and said, “Why don’t you go play.” I phoned the course and grabbed the only tee time available to me. And out door I went! Ps. My golfing friends also...

    Pipes and Ham radio

That’s true of non-modern keys and internal keyers, which today automatically provide perfectly even spacing. With modern equipment, aside from speed selection, (Words Per Minute) everyone sounds exactly alike. Many will still operate what’s called a straight key or bug or cootie in which the...

    Carter Hall

I thought I’d never dislike Carter Hall. It hasn’t changed. I have. It’s strange to revisit blends once loved and not experience them the same.

    Pipes and Ham radio

Those machines are fine for sending, but nothing beats the human brain for receiving. And nothing translates a sloppy fist. In other words, a poor code sender. I can send clear code at 30-35 wpm. If the other OP is a skillful and clear sender, I can get most on receive. But I prefer to both...

    Pegasus: Love for One Blend

Hutch, I paid $50 per pound in 2020. At only $34 per pound in 2024? This is making me question panic cellaring at all! Glad to see it, honestly. Get it while the getting is good.. It ages quite well. And for those of us whom make sound effects when getting out of a chair, it ages really FAST.

    Pegasus: Love for One Blend

Played golf, unexpectedly today. So I left the house early and without a leisurely coffee and smoke. It’s now 4:00pm and I haven’t enjoyed a bowl yet today. This one should be a really great smoke… Pegasus Right. Winchester Left. Both aged 3 plus years…. The winner is…. PEGASUS

    Pegasus: Love for One Blend

I notice you added no Granger. Glad. My affinity for Granger is a guilty pleasure akin to sipping Seagrams 7 Crown warm from its brown, plastic bottle. -another personal guilty favorite. You may not “understand” Pegasus immediately. However, Winchester’s flavor won’t hide from you. Let us know...

    Pegasus: Love for One Blend

I’d likely die of a broken heart at the loss of either one. Would make friends with a drawn face on a soccer ball and name him, “Wilson” just like Tom Hanks did. You should see my Granger cans…I could easily build a Pontoon Boat and escape.

Britain's Best Briar Pipe Found in Antique Shop - Should I Buy?

I’m am a huge fan of BBB and unfortunately, here in the States, we seldom come across such lucky finds. At least, I haven’t. That coloring is just incredible and like someone commented, it’s case is in fabulous shape and the markings are crisp and legible. Run! Buy! I’m envious.

    Birth Year Anything Else?

I think the contemplation that accompanies a good smoke, along with the knowledge that that pipe in hand was created in the same year and will likely be here when we are no longer, evokes a special smoke and is perhaps the perfect pipe for a special occasion. - Christmas Eve, New Years, a...

    Pipes and Ham radio

Yes, Morse is a very popular mode today and the only mode I operate. I can be found on 20 and 30 meters. Cost can be minimal or you can spend 10’s of thousands depending on your interests. You can purchase a fine modern rig new for under $600.00. Along with that you’ll need a power supply...

    Birth year Dunhills?

Yes, they can and often are replaced. On pipes that are decades old and show that they’ve been regularly smoked, it would be unusual not to find a replaced stem, in my opinion. Reputable sellers, if knowledgeable should state so.
