    Good Photos

Taken two nights ago in Coastal Delaware. That’s the MOON. All three taken with my cell phone. All are the same location. Yes, but where? The near duplicate with people in the frame was deleted.

***What Are You Smoking, October 2024?***

Enjoying a bowl of Pegasus in a new to me Al Pascia Meer. Found this not-so-recent purchase in the back of a cabinet. I’d completely forgotten about this pipe! My first smoke and it passes a pipe cleaner easily to the bowl and is remaining lit effortlessly. Pure tobacco taste. No ghost. I...

    Pegasus: Love for One Blend

Enjoying some… you guessed it. Pegasus in an Al Pascia Meer. Couldn’t be any better.

    My Journey into Burley Blends

Pegasus is the favorite of all three. Although I smoke Granger more often as a pallet resetter, if that makes sense. Winchester is an occasional treat, because I always enjoy it as I return to it, but if I smoke it repeatedly, it becomes cigar-like and then I’ve had enough until the next time...

    C&D Engine #382 vs C&D Crooner

I’ve tried Engine 382 and Gentleman Caller and promptly gifted those. I’ve not sampled New Market. But Crooner is my kind of blend. The flavor from an herb and from tobacco.

How to Get a Foul Taste out of Meerschaum?

Don’t waste the whiskey. That’s just flavored water. I’m following this thread because In what little experience I have with Meers, I can’t keep a Meers bowl free of a carbon layer either. My feeling is that once cake is there, does the fact that meer is a porous material even matter?

“What is wrong, Master?” “You smell like…. Granger!”

    Maximum Musical Result using Minimalism

Big Fan of David Gilmour. I saw him in an opera house in Frankfurt in 84-85. Seats open up front. Outstanding. Thank you for posting.

    Your Most Peaceful Experience?

The most vivid was on the darkest night I’d ever experienced. Pitch black. Alone looking at the sky from a foxhole. The stars were incredible. I said to myself, as I chose one of the brightest stars and three others, that I would commit those 4 stars to memory and seek out that pattern of...

    Birth year Dunhills?

I finally own my Birth-Year Dunhill. Arrived yesterday… A Model 64 from ‘64! How befitting! I want to share her maiden voyage… I’ve decided on some aged Pegasus. She’s a tiny little thing. Group #1 Smokes cool. I prefer a flatter bit for a secure clench. I find myself having to hold...

Christopher Morley Pipe Club Meeting (Philly)

The P&P 15th & Locust near Latimer’s. Deli. Nothing beats Center City Philadelphia. Walk over to Walnut and grab a nice cigar. Enjoy Rittenhaus Square. Duck into an Irish Pub for a Guinness Most diverse food choices anywhere. I spent most of my life right there. Small town feel...

Should I Pick it Up Again and Smoke It?

Personally, I do it most every day. But I don’t prefer it to a freshly lit bowl in a clean pipe.

    Patty O'Furniture

My Father retired from Philadelphia Electric. I also grew up with those wooden cable spools! Dad would paint them without any thought to color, only to weather proofing. Here I was thinking that I’m the only one that had that childhood memory!

    Writing project

Interesting word choice. Wasn’t my intent. There a 783,000 words in the King James. About 6 hours per day for 100 days copying at 22 words per minute. Doable. Great way to not distract the mind from the message. Almost hypnotic. But… requires a pipe. If one kept his pipe lit for the entire...

May we see the New Testament written in your hand? How many trees have given their lives to this endeavor? How many more must?

    That Musty Aroma

No. It was the house Pils served at Marigustavs Beer House in the Red Light District, of course. Drank it by the gallon and it was the best tasting beer I’d ever had. Also drank DoppleBach and Alt.

    That Musty Aroma

I have the same nostalgia and angst over a beer I enjoyed in Frankfurt, Germany. I can still taste it but have never come close to realizing what I was drinking. I was stationed there and it was the house beer of a place in the city that I enjoyed for more than a year. Henninger is the local...

    Encouraging New Pipe Smokers

if I return to a cigar, I refresh it by exhaling through it into the flame. The accumulated tars burn away. You can see the torch-like response until it all burns off. Then the cigar tastes as fresh as when initially lit. You’re Welcome.
