    Monthly Spend?

My apologies for being late tho the show, but my monthly spend runs a$50-90 solely on tobacco. I ogle a handful of tins to add to my purchase of bulk I know I’ll smoke on arrival. Most of my cellared tins are 3-6 years old

Pipesmoking and [Fill In The Blank]

I spent last evening on the balcony overlooking a luminous Dallas skyline, as heavy storms passed south and north. Nothing substantial hit us, but the constant flashes of lightning and perpetual thunder brought to mind the minuscule nature of my being, and and bowl of Briarworks fit perfectly...

I’m saving up for the 146th anniversary blend....

    Any Crypto Investors (Gamblers)?

There’s a crypto ATM down the street from me, so I guess some people are headed in that direction. I still remember a time when I’d carry cash in my wallet.

    Any Crypto Investors (Gamblers)?

I have a friend who retired in his 30’s thanks to crypto trading, and has been all about blockchain for years- he’s now venturing into NFT’s. I’ve played around with crypto and made a nice profit, but I won’t be pressing my luck. I don’t think it will be viable long term, especially once it...

***What Are You Smoking, April 2021?***

I mean, you almost have to order a tin once you see the name, right?

Do You Move The Flame Around When Lighting?

Yes on the initial light and after the initial tamping. I think that lead/ to fewer, if any, relights for my smoking cadence with most blends

***What Are You Smoking, April 2021?***

Waiting for the storms with my pal Guinness (not pictured) and a new tin of Merde de Cheval in a reject pipe I rusticated and finished.

Tree Planting Was Harder Than I Thought

My grandparents had an old log cabin in Crystal Valley, right east of Pentwater! I spent summers growing up on their place, which is on the sight of an old saw mill. They passed over a decade ago and the land is now part of a nearby farm, but I always stop by and visit when I am anywhere...

Tree Planting Was Harder Than I Thought

Nice! I just looked up dibble bar and watched a video on their use- thank you for the chance to learn. I did some trail/forest maintenance and a little planting on my grandparent’s land in west-central Michigan when I was (much) younger: such a beautiful area!

    Moving. Oy!

We moved this week, and my Better-Half moves in June to the East Coast for a year or two. I’m pretty sure moving is one of the Circles of Hell. Safe travels!

What Are You Listening To? - April, 2021

The new Cannibal Corpse album ‘Violence Unimagined” absolutely shreds. Alex Webster remains one of the best bass musicians still playing heavy metal, and he’s all over this album. I’ll do everyone on the forums a favor and listen to it for you all :)

    Keep Puffing Boys, Keep Puffing

This is a fun exercise in spurious correlations, as famously demonstrated by the likes of Tyler Vigen and other big-data statisticians*. There are far too many confounding variables to make any assumptions about SARS-CoV-2 at this point, but this was a fun read nonetheless. *the age of Miss...

    Bulks and Tins

Sutliff Eastfarthing and Sutliff 504C aromatic English (bulk) are very, very similar. Sometimes I think Eastfarthing has a bit more vanilla, but I’ve purchased both at the same time, opened, and sampled, and they’re so close that I buy bulk.

    Funds Transfer

I 100% agree. Back when international travel was a thing, I usually relied on Visa to get decent exchange rates and always carried some cash, but constantly paying exchange rates took its toll pretty quickly. There are a handful of companies like Wise trying to fill that gap, but it’s still far...

    Funds Transfer

I have only used PayPal for pipes and my personal purchases, but the only quicker alternative I know of is Wise (known as TransferWise previously); there’s still a delay and a minimum $25 deposit, but I’ve used it before when sending money to colleagues.

I've Heard of a Stripper at a Construction Site Before, But Not Like This

Oh Canada, indeed: it’s been far too long since I’ve visited your glorious country.

I've Always Enjoyed Posts From (Member Appreciation Thread)

I’m relatively new here, but very much enjoy my interactions with the community. I’m indebted to @Servant King for his tobacco, @jiminks for his reviews, @Richmond B. Funkenhouser for cats, and many other frequent contributors for their thoughts and insight. A special shout-out to for anyone...

    Chest Full Of Tins.

Nice collection, but I don’t envy the process. I’m moving to a smaller place this coming week while the Better-Half moves to the East Coast for a year or so. I hate moving but enjoy unpacking, if that makes any sense. It’s a clean slate to (re)organize all my books and art and tobacco and such.
