The (Un)Official PipesMagazine Secret Santa Thread 2022!

I can smoke many things, as long as they aren’t heavy, obviously polarizing aromatics, lakelands, or anything with more than a small percentage of perique, and again, importantly, with gusto, No DFK. Above all things, I like good VA’s, straight or blended, and good englishes, both of which I...

I’m in! Always fun to watch. PLEASE GOD, NO DARK FIRED KENTUCKY! You’ll put me back in the hospital!

Show Us Your Mastro Geppetto & Ser Jacopo Pipes

Ordered this beautiful bastard as I’ve not a dedicated Lat-based pipe, and with the recent cooler weather I have found myself craving Latakia, which is a first for me, as I spoiled the stuff for myself years ago. Looks like nature is healing. XD It’ll be my first Ser Jacopo, so I hope it smokes...

Looking For A Dr. Grabow Slim Pear/Shape 74

That is remarkably kind, thank you.

Looking For A Dr. Grabow Slim Pear/Shape 74

Smooth preferred, but either is more than fine, and I grew up with a stinger filter, so I’d think some filter would be nice. I actually like those pesky stingers personally. If it helps, believe I had a yellow spade Riviera.

Looking For A Dr. Grabow Slim Pear/Shape 74

Also, if anyone knows any forum members that may be sitting on a ton of Grabows, if you could point them in this direction, that’s be swell!

Looking For A Dr. Grabow Slim Pear/Shape 74

Hello all, A long while back, my first pipe broke. I check around old estates when I can here and there, but I haven't been able to find this particular pipe shape of a grabow in decent condition, if at all, really. This isn’t an end-all-be-all pipe for me, but it would be nice for nostalgia as...

    An Interesting Kaywoodie

Hello all, I both found and scooped up a Kaywoodie today rather spontaneously, and it seems to be rather different than most that I’ve been able to find. Here are some pics: It just looked so interesting, and at the price I got it for it being NOS, I felt pretty good about it being my first...

Show us the Pipe that Started Your Smoking Adventure!

This is my first pipe. An old, heavily used Dr. Grabow Riviera with a stinger filter and vulcanite stem. It had a cracked shank when I bought it, and I used to use tape and rubber bands to keep the shank tight enough to hold the stem. It was a long journey, the thing was clogged with a capital...

Show Off Your Meerschaum Pipes Here!

It’s finally here! Its a true stunner, sporting quite a massive bowl for my smoking style, but I’m sure I’ll gladly make it work. I’m rather sure it’ll be coloring rather interestingly, as I suspected prior, it does seem to be rather translucent, on all sides and in all places, but perhaps it...

    Opinions on Boswell’s Tobacco

Boswell’s is technically my local tobacconist and has been for years, so of course I’ve smoked a whole slew of his blends, and with that I’ve had a long time to think about this. Not in any way to throw shade, and I do mean that, but if it was between The Country Squire’s blends and Boswell’s...

Show Off Your Meerschaum Pipes Here!

Another Altinay beauty, and first claw meer! 9mm filtered, 2 oz. and nearly six inches, I don’t think I’ll be able to mentally calculate how big this monster is until it arrives, but either way, I’m quite excited as I’ve had my eye on it for a good while, and for good reason. You see I’ve had a...

Top Five Concerts You Wish You'd Been At?

Too many to pick given my eclectic music tastes, but the one that’s usually the most apparent in my mind when asked is Daft Punk’s Alive, 2007.

    Jim's C&D Palmetto Balkan Review.

Well, Jim, seeing as how you’ve smoked everything under the sun, does the processed latakia leaf offer the notes of what it was made to emulate?

The "New" Carter Hall and Prince Albert

I miss the “luxury” pouches of PA so goddamn much, the tubs these days seem rather flavorless by comparison. As soon as I heard PA was back in production, I anxiously scooped up a tub, as I had been nursing a two ounce luxury pouch for an eternity. I thought, finally, I won’t ever have to worry...

Show Off Your Castello Pipes Here!

For a long time I’ve despised Latakia, but, I’ve been trying to overcome that, so I’ve now a pipe specifically for Latakia-based blends. A Le Dune Shape 55. This pipe is as massive as I’ve ever had, weighing in at 2.22 ounces, with a .93 inch chamber diameter and a 1.5 inch deep bowl...

Show Off Your Castello Pipes Here!

Alright, it took two weeks, but, I finally found a make of one of their more popular shapes that caught my eye. It’s a Castello ‘Castello’ KKKK Shape 55, with a silver military mount. The bowl twist sold me immediately, and while completely smooth isn’t a common thing for me, I still think it...

    Recent TAD Pick-Ups

Today was a good day, thank you B&M’s. First time I’ve been able to get my mitts on all of these minus the Stonehaven. Again, a good day.

Show Off Your Castello Pipes Here!

First Castello, an Old Antiquari Pot. Due to the local bomb-cyclone, I probably won’t have a chance to take it out until tomorrow, but, for now, I am quite pleased. Aesthetically, I understand why folks say that a Castello pipe won’t be lonely for long. Now to find a shape 55 that I don’t...
